Lemme see…
I went on to Firefox, typed in the website for Black Mesa Forums, saw a white page filled with words, slept, went to Black Mesa chat, checked out the new replacement forums, and here I am.

I’m one of those readers who never posted before, maybe I’ll change my ways this time. I made missing dog posters for the advertising competition ages ago, dunno if anyone remembers that (a black dog called mesa :p).
Hello Guys,
Thank you all so much for the stories. I am so glad you are happy here and look at this as more then a mod website, but a community of loving, caring people. You really all put a smile on my face after this sad day in Black Mesa history.
Keep On Rocking!
We remember it cause it was on 404 page, Chris
I must of put it in a different directory and forgot to update my post, my bad. xD
Edit - Can’t find the photos but this was what the poster looked like.
But I do, and it was like that one but the other way up.
I go away for a day and you guys go and ruin Christmas!
Hmm, interesting website. Could’ve saved me some trouble earlier today…
This site is lying! Gamernode isn’t up!
I played Solitaire for a few hours thinking that the page just kept timing out. (56k > My connection) Went to sleep, woke up. Re-created an account.

Well, I had heard stories of Black Mesa Source before, but had never seen anything concrete. Then a few days back my friend introduced me to the HL2 comic “Concerned”. It was there that I found my first link to Black Mesa Source.
Naturally I was very excited, as I clicked the link with my expectations running wild! When suddenly I was informed that firefox could find no such address. I was suddenly depressed, thinking the project had been abandoned long ago. Suddenly I was struck with the idea to search it on google, and it was confirmed by google to be a real site. So I checked out googles cache, which naturally didn’t have much, but confirmed to me the site was real. I then checked back a few hours later and found the HDD failure note, and was relieved to see that the project was, in fact, still going strong. SO, here I am.
This will be entered into History Textbooks, and gonna be told to our grandchildren by a fireplace. Awesome.
By then fireplaces will be replaced by hovering lazers
Just came by to lurk and read posts, and BM was gone. I had visited earlier in the day (pacific time zone) and everything was fine. I hope the site was backed up and can be restored to its former glory. Good luck guys.
I was browsing the web pointlessly, tried to open the website, the loading failed.
I then tried Google.
Google loaded quickly.
THEN I sent an e-mail to VALVe thanking them for the Free Friday… then I got an e-mail from GabeN saying thanks etc.
I then noticed the message saying sorry for the kerfuddle and then it went blank again.
I was relieved when, 5 hours later, I could access the site and register.
That’s about it
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
