Whats the absolutely most horrid and overrated game you have ever played?

So what’s the point of the thread? Point out every game you mildly disliked or found others liked? Perhaps the most over used thread type I can think of, there’re at least five others on these forums. Oddly, no meaningful or productive discussion has come out of them. Big surprise, really.

I couldn’t get past the third level. There weren’t any glitches, I just couldn’t bring myself to actually play through it. People say it got better, but if a game can bring itself that low for one level, getting better in meaningless. But in any case, that’s just one man’s opinion. Should probably just leave this thread now so it can die quicker, worthless as it is.

The graphics were shit. Halo’s environments were interesting and lush.

Meanwhile, Halo 2 painted everything in beige or, in the later levels, purple. It was environmentally boring, and it’s texture system sucked. I’m not lying when I say I saw textures finally load after about 30 seconds of viewing a specific model.

But, of course, I’m sure this was all fixed for the PC? And it was, of course, given a controls boost where it didn’t feel clunky when you moved?

EDIT: ninja’d

Everyone needs a place to insult other peoples interest without reason. I mean what would you do if you couldn’t do such things. Have valid discussions about your own interests? Naww that’s be stupid.

They had a really fucked up schedule (in that one didn’t exist)

I think at the time they’d never worked to an unmovable time constraint without having a little work done prior. I mean Halo wasn’t the extra bad ass franchise made by professionals who knew what they were doing, it was a breakout title for some indie company. Halo 2 was more than they could chew. It was cool to see them grow since.

Bungie created the critically acclaimed Marathon series before heading onto Halo, so they were far from indie or inexperienced.

What’s wrong with Mass Effect? Love it! And Adonay13, Bad Company 2!? REALLY?! Battlefield is awesome!

however, the new Medal of Honor was bad. It was so hyped up but it was all a wannabe Battlefield release.

Oh maaan your missing out. If you like sandbox type games (ie. Garrys mod) you should love this game. Did you play the “Classic” free version on the website or the paid version? That free version IS shit but the paid is awesome. You mine for ore and materials to construct whatever you want. Can make roller coasters if you wanted. with redstone dust you can make electrical type systems (think Wiremod for Gmod). Again, if your into these style games you should give it another go.

Short list. I try not to say a games shit because I didn’t like the story/progression but there is always exceptions haha

  • Farcry
  • L4D(1&2)
  • Guitar Hero (RIP)
  • SilentHill Homecoming *

* Loved all the rest of them, just this game the mobs pissed me off way to much and I was stuck in the wall more than I was progressing. Many rage quits when playing this game.

Do you honestly expect everything in life to be meaningful and productive? Then you have by far the boringest life i’ve ever heard of.

this thread =/= life

I hope you realize that video is of a hilarious Deus Ex mod called Malkavian mod

MDIGN, I still want you to post a detailed essay on why you hate Deus Ex.

Critically acclaimed =/= not indie

In fact, it was 100% individual. They funded and published everything themselves.

Plus the games in their very nature were pretty quick to create even for the time. Not a lot of voice acting or work needed to expend on art assets. Especially for the sequels where they could reuse stuff from previous installments.

GTFO. Seriously. BFBC2 is amazing. If you have a problem with military shooters, then that’s just you and doesn’t make the game overrated. If you just sucked ass at BFBC2 then that’s your fault for not playing it enough. It has a staggering learning curve but once you get past it it’s incredibly fun. It kicked Black Ops’ ass, especially since I got it for 7 dollars and Black Ops for 60.

The L4D’s are perhaps a little overrated, but they’re definitely not bad. If you get together with a bunch of friends and play custom campaigns it’s SOOOOOOOO much more fun.

How could you not like Bad company 2! that was an awesome game
Edit: still quite new to Quotes and stuff

yep.

kk, That’ll take a sec.

I say underrated, because on release most people hopped on the “bawwww it’s not episode 3” bandwagon.

Left 4 Dead 2 is fucking awesome. Best gore in any game.

Left 4 Dead 1 isn’t bad, but not as good as Left 4 Dead 2.

I personally preferred L4D1. The campaigns were much better. The characters were better. And it had never been done before.

The definite gem of the L4D series is how easy it is to make a custom campaign worth playing compared to other games. There are some really really nice custom campaigns out there. I find most custom campaigns for L4D2 are actually much better than L4D2’s actual campaigns.

I like both Left 4 Deads, but I prefer the feel of the first over the second. The weapons just…felt better. And imo L4D looks more realistic. L4D2 looked a bit cartoonish, though the gore is awesome in it.

Bioshock: Shit sucked. Hard.

Team Fortress 2: It’s good, but its community is what ruined it.

you best be trollin’ son
