What to do before release, so the internet doesn't die.

:3

Every ass thinks torrents are bad. mental2k is one of them because he dooesn’t know what he is talking about.

An encrypted preload would be fun. It could be as simple as an encrypted RAR/ZIP or something as secure as a tru crypt volume.

Why the hell wouldn’t the devs want people to play as soon as it’s done downloading?

Because they want us to suffer?

I think a ton of fourm members spread the word with flash stuff (signatures/:freeman  and just talk about the game being released on off-topic parts of fourms! That would be realy effective.

That will just break the internet faster

File a complaint about their violation of network neutrality.

It would be a super long download time anyway, it’s a huge file!!
My internet is at it’s fast(not much) 1,1 MB/sec
Good idea though, that seeding stuff, but that is only available for forum members…

Never forget the l:lambda:mbda

What is this Balck Meas they have an web site and are on twitter too…I read on their twitter that this Balck Meas it`s almost done I’m just curious if exist some media of it :meh:

:awesome: AWESOME :awesome:

I like how so many people think it’s a realistic solution to release the game a day early, and then release a password instead of the installer. I bet they think it gets dark outside when they close their eyes, too…

yes, but people like me could upload for a lot of users. I have 30 MB/s, i don’t put a bandwidth cap on Utorrent, so theoretically i could upload 500 KB - 1 MB/s for a lot of people.

@mattemuse

the notion of encryptions/passwords are just stupid. this is about the viability of server bandwidth, not integrity of individuals. If the devs gave it to the right people a week or so before launch, then they could effectively start seeding at launch. The reason people keep talking about passwords is because they want it on their computer the second it’s released.

Why are we concerning about the spreading of the mod. The Internet will do it without us on his own way.

No. The internet will break.

BMS will spread itself across the internet once it becomes self-aware, by 2012 it will have infected every computer in the world.

Black Mesa is…

Skynet

?

no.

Im pretty sure the devs have it covered, it will spread across many different servers and we shouldnt have a problem. Who knows Valve may put it on steam (for free of course) as they have added steam support for alot of mods, and not many as amazing as this.

I hope someone can port it to Commodore 64 so I can play it.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
