What is Portal: First Slice?

Whenever Steam comes out with new updates for the Orange Box (Half Life 2 Episode 1 & 2 TF2 Portal) I always pause the downloads however a download called Portal: First Slice keeps downloading and it doesn’t show in the download part of Steam Library.
What is Portal: First Slice?
