What in Half Life made you want to play HL2 and why?

I was thinking about why would people like HL2, and why.
With me, that was the GREAT story, and when i played HL2, i could not wait to go on, and why? i don’t know!:lambda:

When I threw the can at the cp and he beat me unconscious. just like real life. woo yay source engine!

The fact that it had the words Half-life in its title :expressionless:

^this kinda… It was the boosted version of my favourite game.

i am deeply c0nfused by this thread

Why?

“what in half life made you want to play hl2”…if you liked the original, isn’t that reason enough? I don’t know. Maybe I’m just thinking about it too hard.

Seems to me that you answered your own question. Half-Life 2 has a great storyline, does a great way of introducing the story and really makes you feel like you’re a part of the story.

As for when I decided I wanted to play Half-Life 2… I really liked the first Half-Life, and played it a lot. So I would of course consider playing Half-Life 2. It wasn’t until I saw the trailers for Half-Life 2 that I knew I had to play it.

This.

For me Half-Life was/is the best game so of course I wanted to know how the second part of that great game looks like and how the story continues. It would be strange if played a game and it fascinated me but I don’t want to play the second part of it. :brow:

Actually, I had gotten Episode 1 before I even knew about the existence of Half Life, but it wasn’t until after I beat HL1 that I decided to get the Orange Box. Ultimately, it was the simple yet robust controls, tied in with the no-cutscene storytelling and well paced balance of puzzle, platforming, exploration and combat.

The immersive gameplay, the run n’ gun capability, and the fact that I don’t have to use iron sights to riddle someone with bullets or other projectiles.

How in the blazes could you NOT know that there was a HL2 when playing a game called Half-Life 2 Episode One!

He said Half-life, not HL2.

The g-man mystery.

How in the blazes could you NOT know that there was a HL1 when playing a game called Half-Life 2 Episode One!

Fixed, and it still amounts to the same :frowning:

It was gifted to me by someone online. That was my introduction to half life.

How in blazes could you NOT know that “before” refers to a SEQUENCE that a series of events takes place in, not a specific or extended period of time, and can therefor even have an immeasurably short period of time between the preceding events and the following ones. In this case, receiving HL2:ep1 being the preceding events and therefor happening immediately BEFORE realizing that HL1 existed.

half life 1 was incredible,so why not get the sequel that also got rave reviews and was in-fucking-credible?

The fact that I had bought the orange box and wanted to play the games in order.
