You should do the whole “The End” thing where you get to the battle with The End, and save and wait a week, and he’ll have died of old age.
I always kill him right after that cutscene while he’s in the wheel chair, though.
But how will you know what the hell to do?
I did that in my third playthrough. I hated that boss so much, so a chance to skip it is fantastic.
I guarantee you that that little easter egg was added so the player will see how frustrating the End is, turn off the game, and not touch it for a while until they finally decide to play it again, only to be surprised that they don’t have to fight.
Kojima is awesome like that.

It’s made by the original Final Fantasy team, before they went over to being fucking Squeenix, so go figure.
Although, I can’t think of any FF’s I’ve played with an ending that doesn’t deliver… Well, XII was so bad I couldn’t carry on with it, so I don’t count it.
VII was a long game, very cool ending, VIII was even longer with an even cooler ending, IX was long too, and the ending was good (but not amazing).

Also, only mine the planets which say the have “Rich” mineral deposits. They can get you a good 20k mineral in almost any kind. And there are plenty of them. Don’t be afraid to spend a little fuel going to other planets to mine for minerals, the ones you have to drive a ways to get to have more resources in them. If you’re on a rich planet, keep searching for minerals even when the radar says the planet is depleted, there’s usually one or two more hot spots on the planet before it really runs out.

Bad Company 2 BETA, it’s OK i guess. I’m disappointed that the fluidity of the game hasn’t changed much since Battlefield 2.

I’m trying out Fallout 3 for the first time. I dunno what I think yet. I’ve played almost all of the Elder Scrolls games and I enjoy them. I have never played any of the Fallout games though.
I think as far as shooters go, I’m just way too impressed with the Mass Effect games to be impressed by Fallout right now.

My good computer is broken so I have to use my mother’s HL: Source is by far the fastest game that lump can run (and even then not on the highest settings).
