4, of course… 1 or 2 is ridiculously easy.
That’s a relief.
Mod work has taken up all of my game playing time. :fffuuu:
I’ve beaten through Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes (N64) and Metal Slug 4 (on Wii), since last I’ve been on. Had to format my hard drive, and still in the process of reclaiming my lost files. At least Steam is fully taken care of now. In between reinstalling applications on my computer, and work, I’ve been playing this:
It’s not perfect, as it has a ton of bugs, but it’s fun. Certainly not as stellar as Streets of L.A., but I’m still enjoying going around arresting perps.
… … …
After getting back from holiday, I caught up a bit on some of my Steam purchases. I played a bit of Serious Sam HD, which is good, but a little too Doom-like for my taste. I’ll definitely revisit it later, but I’m not in a trigger-happy enough mood to enjoy it properly.
I also played a little bit of Lego Star Wars (xD) and I’m about to fire up the first Splinter Cell game. Looking forward to some Sam Fisher goodness!
Lately I have been addicted to Wipeout HD. The graphics are in a word jaw-dropping. The gameplay is a little looser than F-Zero GX, but more flexible in gameplay variety and variable in difficulty. I also wound up getting several other titles on PSN that I’m bouncing between- Infamous, FFVII,FFVIII, FFIX, MGS1, Front Misson 3, Soviet Strike, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode One (A curious mix of old and new, it owes a lot to it’s Genesis fore-bearers in level design and boss opponents. It’s still fun, but I’m glad I got it at a reduced price.)
Crapload of Assassin’s Creed 2. I have a (bad?) habit of doing everything I can before continuing the main story, so I’m not very fast.
That’s what I’m currently doing in True Crime: NYC. I’m only about 4% of my way through the main story, and yet I’ve spent hours turning the entire map green. I have only one precinct left, and then I’ll attack the rest of the street races. Fun stuff, even while the game lags considerably.
Prince Of Persia, the cell shaded one.
Finally got it after a month (goddamned download limit) - awesome fun!
Kirby Epic Yarn, DKC Returns, and beat the Spirit Temple in Ocarina of Time.
I just got a PS3 so I’ve been playing Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2 and InFamous. All are awesome so far, especially Uncharted 2, but Infamous is a bit annoying because it suffers from Far Cry 2 syndrome.
But tight-rope walking powercables is too cool for school
Not when about 20 guys are all shooting at you at the same time
Tried to beat some more of DKC: Diddy’s Adventure. Finally beat the level I was stuck on… only to lose it all again an hour later.
Curse you Wrinkly Kong and your unjust monopoly on save points!
For the record, DKC Returns is significantly easier than the old games, simply because extra lives and coins practically rain down from all directions and you can save after every level for gasp FREE. I make note to say this because I’ve seen at least 1 review that says the difficulty is still there…
Update: There, perfected the levels I was stuck on, now to repeat the process.
R-Really? Have to played the originals? As I said before, I threw my keyboard away in frustration after playing this for a few hours.
While I may be criticised for flooding this thread, I just played an hour or two of the first Splinter Cell, and I absolutely love this game. I’d played a little of each of the first four games, and had a lot of fun with them with friends, but this was the first time I’d ever played any of them from start to finish. So far I’m just on to the second mission, and while its not particularly impossible, I’m nonetheless loving the stealth.
Started New Vegas after finishing Metro 2033. So far, Metro was better, but this is still awesome.
Recently finished playing Far Cry 2 - good God this game frustrated the hell out of me. I can honestly say I’ve never become so enfuriated at an inanimate object before.
It’s beautiful, there’s no denying that, but the weak story, rampant bugginess, lack of interactive characters, and the goddam never ending line of people who wanted to kill you had me almost shouting at the screen. The last point was the worst. The fact that it’s never explained to you satisfactorily way why every single person acts as though you shat in their mouths while they slept and now wants you dead.
I’ll try not to rant, but one scene sums it up for me. Standing at the water’s edge watching the sun rise after having killed 40 people just to get down the road, I was peacefully admiring the view believing that the game might be redeemable. As my back was turned however, a bug then replaced all the npcs on the map who then slaughter me. I was not pleased.
