Just reinstalled S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, with the Complete 2009 mod installed.

Tried out TLoZ:Ocarina of Time with the Cel-Shaded mod.
It looks GREAT! But I REALLY need a controller. This is one of those rare times where a Keyboard and mouse just doesn’t cut it (though, that’s probably because it wasn’t designed with the advantages of it the K+M in mind.) Luckily, I asked for a wired XBox 360 controller for Christmas.
Yeah, I know it’s piracy, but at least this is the worst case of piracy I have ever done. It’s not like I’m prating recent releases to “test them out” (or just because “I got no moniez waaaaaaa!!!11!!1!11”)

Because if you haven’t noticed by my avatar, or my many, MANY post where I reference it to the point of annoyance to other forum members, I’m completely gay for Metal Gear.
Get it, it’s really good. There are a bunch of people on it though that practice so much that they can basically exploit different aspects of the game though. Kind of sucks when you go up against a team of them.

One question though: Is the gameplay/cutscene ratio REALLY as bad as I heard it was?
8 hours of cut scenes total, some of them longer than an hour. (afaik)
I’ve played some of the first ones, but I only manage to get so far before quitting because of the cut scenes.

Well, all of the MGS games have incredibly long cutscenes. I didn’t notice any difference between MGS4 and the other ones.
Played some more MGO and managed to level up my CQC skill to level 2. It’s kind of hard since a lot of people use CQC EX, which is cheap as hell, it makes it so if you go to grab them they throw you down. Also leveled my sniper skill to level 2.
Alright, that’s all I really care about. As long as I get to PLAY the game at some points to make me feel like I’m doing shit, I’ll be fine.
Heh heh, I find it funny how MGS1 was praised for creating the stealth genre (well, popularizing it at least. Metal Gear 1 for the MSX2 is the game that actually created the genre), yet you only played for, like, 3/8 of the game if you watched all of the cutscenes.
Well, I guess I’ll find out if it was all worth it in less than two days.
Is CQC EX a hack, or an actual gameplay mechanic?
It’s an actual gameplay mechanic. It was already bad enough when Konami made it so you don’t have to press an extra button to disarm someone with CQC 3 but now with CQC EX it does that but also you can’t be CQC’d. I’m trying to email Konami about it but I can’t find their email address.
