What Game Did You Play Today?

not if you bind the way I bind

Nope. I love it.

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion
TrackMania United Forever

An HL2 mod called Joutomaa Redux. Fantastic stuff… nothing new gameplay-wise, but the entire thing is beautifully designed and polished.

Magic the Gathering. For about three to four hours with friends. Got close, but never actually won. I present a good game, but never follow through with a win.

I bought Minecraft today. Wow this is way more addicting than I could have ever anticipated.

Day 1: Couldn’t figure out how to craft. Died

Day 2: Learned to craft items. Fell into hole with an archer. Discovered hole in ground had 2 branching caves with water, iron, and easy access to the ocean. Set up shop.

Day 3-6: Got the hang of crafting, created some leather armor, built a pillar of fire to find hole in ground when I leave, and connected water to other the other cave.

Day 7: Sailed to island with desert on it and discovered water at an extremely high altitude. Night showed up while I was building waterfalls. Jumnped into tree. Archer starts shooting. Build walls out of dirt. Spider lands on head.

So I’m currently sitting on an island a good ways from my base, occupying a single square, completely surrounded by dirt up in a tree, with a spider and archer patrolling the premise… this can’t possibly end poorly.

Having Minecraft Wiki handy when playing MineCraft is an absolute must.

I’ve discovered that. It’s the only way I could find any of the crafting recipes.

Update:

steps outside into the sunlight
HA HA! Take that zombies! turns around
Exploding Zombie: “Hai”

Time to start from the beginning again. sigh

I haven’t bought the full version of the game yet, but I am interested in getting it. I just haven’t had the money. So I’ve been enjoying Classic until that happens. I’m attempting to build an entire city on a public server while having a bot to back things up. Unfortunately, the MineCraft website has been down for the past couple of days, so I haven’t been able to get on the server.

World of Minecraft is good for those pesky offline moments.

the exploding zombie is called a creeper. you will learn to be terrified of them very fast.

i think it’s pretty weird that this thread has gone in the minecraft direction. from 11AM until 3AM i’ve been playing minecraft. autistic as fuck, all day. the sound of digging through dirt is reverberating around in my head. i can still see the last creeper that popped into view before i closed the game for the night in my mind’s eye.

i am going to turn this entire island into a flat sheet of bedrock if it’s the last fucking thing i do.

p.s. i started on a new map this morning. it happened to be a tundra biome. it started snowing here about four hours ago. there’s about 3 inches outside. I’ve been playing LittleBigPlanet 2 for the last few days, it’s OK so far. Not as big a step up from the first as I would have liked, but the story levels are better designed (so far) IMO. Plus, it’s compatible with all of the LBP1 levels that are already online, which is cool. I need to find the “best” levels from the first game now :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m sure if I were to design levels, it would be a huge improvement, since there is a ton of new stuff.

I think that and MGS4 are the only reasons I’d buy a PS3. Well, and the new steam stuff. If only I had money…

Played Command & Conquer 4 today…what a huge disappointment the C&C series has become since EA took it over! C&C 3 & 4 are more like Starcraft or Supreme Commander than anything else. They need to either go back to the main story line or just bag the whole thing!

CnC3 was pretty good IMO, I’m a huge fan of the series since Tiberian Sun. But yeah CnC4 was just a massive slap in the face for fans.

I beat LBP2 yesterday.

The last chapter’s levels weren’t anywhere near as frustrating as the final levels from the first game.

And I was lucky enough to be ranked #48 on the leaderboards in one level, I was shocked, considering a few levels later I was ranked in the 17,000s.

More Minecraft. Started a new world since my first one wasn’t doing it for me, and spawned right next to twin mountains. Have spent most of the last 2 days exploring, mining, and tweaking my hovel. Not as spectacular as a lot of creations, but I’m a fan:

You NEVER truly beat Little Big Planet 2. brain esplodes!!!

Completed Mass Affection 2.
Having it windowed and someone booping their nose in the lower-left corner of your screen is the best way to finish the game.

More maps’n’mods for HL2. There was one called A Scanner Darkly that was pretty cool, otherwise pretty meh.
