What Game Did You Play Today?

Ikaruga…this game is hard as hell.

You must not be Asian enough.

But you shouldn’t have to progress through the story to unlock such basic stuff, it should be available from the beginning of the game. Having that for characters stats is mad too, your character should be good because you work for it, not because the plot’s gone forward.

For me, the lack of connection with the dog is because no-one ever talks about it, it can’t be harmed and all it does is sniff out treasure that’s immediately obvious.

I have to say, the spell weaving is awesome.

More FreeSpace 2 and FreeSpace Port. This game never gets old.

I’ve built a 4 storey home, but it’s mostly empty. I really want to make a library on one level and a bedroom on another. And I was thinking I might make a roof top pool.

Also I’m building a dock for a fleet of boats. And I’ve just started making a tree farm.

I actually want to build a skyscraper. Though I have a life, however slightly, so that would take forever.

Played some S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat, not realizing it was AFTER shadow of Chernobyl.

Skulltag
Deathmatch Classic
KoTOR

Completed Devil May Cry 4…which I started yesterday…

Either I played it too much, or it’s a short game. Tbh, it’s a bit of both. Gameplay was probably 8-9 hours, with at least 1 hour covering the final boss battle alone. Forgot how much DAMN FUN this game is.

Needs moar Dante though. I got fed up with only having two weapons for Nero.

Meh, skyscrapers are easy, although not particularly tall because of the hight limit.

Ah, but grabbing people with Nero’s death bringer has so many uses, it adds sooo much style. As if the game wasn’t overflowing with it anyway. Tongue firmly in cheek.

I’ve managed 11 floors.

Yeah. I really wish he’d just remove the hight limit or make it ridiculously hight. Also I wish the clouds were above it.

What’s the limit?

I think each chunk is about 128 blocks high or something like that.

Freespace 2 is no less than fucking awesome. Best experience by playing with a joystick, imo.
And once you’re done with the main campaign, there are a couple of great custom campaigns (“Derelict” comes to mind)

And the FSOpen thingy adds a lot of nice improvements, both graphical and gameplay-wise…

Damn I need to repair my joystick and play again :o I’d buy a new one, but I can’t find any joystick that feels good to me these days… mine is a Sidewinder Pro 3D from Microsoft, and they stopped making and supporting them. But I would take this over the ugly Saytek (sp?) and other crap that seem to be flooding the stores. Anyone know of a GOOD joystick?

It is fun, but it’s nothing that couldn’t be done as a new weapon or skill (whatever those blademaster, gunner etc things are called) for Dante, y’know? He seems like a superfluous character and takes away some of the flexibility that I loved in the previous games. I mean, I still love the game, and it’s fucking gorgeous, but DMC3 was almost perfect (in DMC terms) and this kind of regressed the series a bit.

Also, not much re-playability… And no alternate costumes.

Soup, I agree with you about how it’s dumb to make you progress in the story to get stuff that you should be able to do right from the beginning.

I also have to agree with this. Some of the effects look awesome, while some are just crazy powerful.

I played more Fable 3 today. Found the rest of the Gnomes (which I found funnier than the gargoyles) and started to hunt down the rest of the silver keys.

I also raged a bit about some of the stupid decisions Microsoft made about the new Dashboard. They already fucked up the Marketplace a couple years back, and I thought they were done, but they did it again with the new update.

I took over the Greeks in Civ V. I’m pissed that submarines can’t attack land units, though.
