What are the most underrated games?

Predator: Concrete Jungle, feels like a striped up splinter cell/assassins creed game, nice storyline, awesome features, and great design
Why do everyone hate it?

Prey

(2k Games - Using idsoftware’s DOOM3 engine)

Prey has awesome interactive beginning, music, and atmosphere.
The alien weapons and their ‘unique uses’ instead of conventional guns: pistol, automatic, shotgun, etc.

The game uses sweet gravity altering environments, scale changing perspectives, and is the first fps game ever to use PORTALS that LOOK like and DO the same kind of mind-boggling portal physics that Valve’s Portals do at the time it was made…

Prey should be given much much more credit for this since they had this cool idea out much much ealier…

I also feel a lot of people under-rated Demon Souls because of the difficulty.

Homeworld.

Yes.

Mercenaries too.

I hope to god they finish that reboot.

Nobody probably remembers this one, but Ehrgeiz for PSX.

It got a lot of shit but it’s still one of the deepest and most challenging fighting games I’ve ever played, and I love how they implemented the movement system and the way the fighting was.

Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway

Amok for the good ol Sega Saturn. Ahead of its console, I do believe. Also, I agree with the Dark Messiah bit. I LOVE that game. Crashes a helluva lot though.

^This too. Earned in blood was a slight refinement, but more of the same goodness.

The less said about hells highway and the Wii ports, the better

A good reason to then.

Black Ops.

It didn’t get the recognition it deserved; even if it grossed a huge amount of money, call of duty now is like a bad word for “hardcore pc gamers”. It’s even better than MW2, and that was already a great game to begin with.[COLOR=‘Black’]huhuhu

Hahaha.

Anyways, Metal Arms: Glitch in the System was a totally awesome shooter experience. I’d recommend it to anyone.

This one is going to sound really weird on this forum, but the entire Half-Life series. It’s godly to pc players, but pc players are becoming a pretty small minority these days. If you leave our cozy bourgeoisie ranks to communicate with the console peasants you will discover very few of them like Half-Life and half of them haven’t even heard of it.
They did get the short end of the stick from Valve, but that’s mostly cause of microsoft and their console’s limitations, so it’s nothing to hold against the game, just something to hold against themselves for buying a console.

Soul Reaver, excellent dialogue, but the olden english was watered down in Soul Reaver 2 for some reason.

:mono:

wait what, I just realised I quoted hells highway as an underrated game…gtfo, that game was average in every conceivable way…

oh god I feel dirty

You guys missed something.

Anyways there are a lot of under-rated games. But are we talking like under-rated as in review scores or like general consensus or as in didn’t get the exposure the game deserved?

You got that right bro, now I was like WTF ? Where is Rune 2 after that many years ?! Only a few people know that game but still good one

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
