What are some must see

anime?

didn’t you know everyone on BM hates anime?

But seriously, there was already a thread like this.

Trigun just overall well done, Death Note was a fairly original concept, Full Metal Alchemist was good because it avoided the stupid chibi humor of anime (don’t watch brotherhood)

I don’t give a shit if this forum doesn’t like anime, I don’t like some shit this forum likes.

Yeah, there was a anime rating thread, might wanna check it out. Anyways, since I’m here…

I’ll second Trigun, it is an awesome gun-slinging sci-fi western-in-space story that doesn’t have to rely on teenagers as main characters to appeal. Outlaw Star is another good one that has a very similar feel to Trigun. Evangelion I will only recommend to you if you can handle both the (now) old cliche of gun-wielding robots piloted by teenagers and psychobabble. Azumanga Daioh is a very good school-life show. Lucky Star is a good one similar to Azumanga but is a bit more current (and the main character is an otaku and gamer). FLCL is pretty crazy but if you can handle it, it’s very interesting. It’s one of the only pieces of media I’ve ever enjoyed analyzing. Gurren Lagann is like FLCL and Evangelion thrown together (no surprise, all 3 were made by the same company). Full Metal Panic and FMP The Second Raid are good military/mecha animes, and FMP Fumoffu is a comedy mostly centering around school life as well, but has some fighting and stuff in it because of the main character. Black Lagoon basically plays like an R-Rated Hollywood action movie, so take that as you will. It starts getting kinda weird when the vampire kids show up, so I ditched it then lol. Lastly, a controversial one is the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I personally enjoy it, but plenty of people hate it. If you like school life and/or sci-fi, I think you will enjoy it.

Fullmetal Alchemist is the only good anime.

Thread ends here

i advise anime fans to attempt to appreciate animation as an art form, and not exclude animation created by cultures other than Japan.

The best anime:

Also, Chrono Crusade was pretty good.

There is a particular style to most Japanese animation that sets it apart from other culture’s animes that, IMO, makes it far better than other styles and the only form of serious animation worth watching.
OP that was clever not putting anime in the title, it might fool the trolls for just a little while.

Anyway, on-topic:
Full Metal Panic! series (action/comedy/romance)
Elfen Leid (violent/action it has too much fan service, but it’s still bearable)
Code Geass (Best anime there is, a must watch)
Negima? (comedy)

Actually, not really, there are tons of people that like anime here, it’s just the trolls and anime haters happen to be louder, and one is a moderator.

That’s hilarious[COLOR=‘Black’]ly wrong

This is why you normal people watch anime about masculine characters with metal limbs

Old Anime Thread

Check this out, it has alot of posts, and the last thing we need is another anime forum.

Its really not the art or animation I give a shit about in anime. The way Japanese tell an action story is different then other cultures. Its the same attractions some people have to JRPGS. Japanese sensiblities just have an interesting quality.

I also appreciate other animation. I haven’t watched much quality animation though. Anime isn’t quality when it comes to animation.

Edit: Since there is already an anime recommendation thread, I think this should get moved to the massdebating hall for debate of the quality or lack there of of anime.

This thread has caused me great disappointment. Partly because I thought it would be about films in general but mainly because Medevilae ignored the two existing anime threads.

I remember posting something bad about anime which triggered a lot of rage.

Wicked.

Anime is for faggots?

Anyone who rages at something like “anime is for faggots” is a faggot

Anyone who rages at “Anyone who rages at something like “anime is for faggots” is a faggot”

Now now, we should all be considerate towards closet homosexuals. If they desire anime so much, we should let them watch it because they already have a hard time as it is, no need to take away some of the few forms of entertainment for this specific ethnic group.

I wouldn’t have thought you would be an anime hater.

i have never watched a cartoon
