Well this is...interesting

So I emailed Doug Lombardi today and this was his response

so he meant 2 years after Episode 2, year 2009?

Cuz I thought 2009, I don’t know how much sooner it could be if it’s already in the past.

Valve Y U TROLL

fuck you and your fake shit

_>

You’d have to be pretty retarded to believe this for an instant.

Here’s the email header for proof

Don’t worry. It’s coming out on [REDACTED]

(That’s sooner than you think)

=94 Doug Lombardi =94 Valve Corporation =94 lombardi@valvesoftware.com<mailto=
:lombardi@valvesoftware.com>

If something good happens on Augst 14 then we will see.

Knowing how trolly Valve is, “sooner than you think” could be like 10 years from now plus Valvetime XD

How did people determine this? The fuck is [REDACTED]…?

Look what I found on Valvetime.net

Original thread: https://www.valvetime.net/threads/gabes-such-a-troll.216601/#post-3366086

I’ll let you make your own assumptions…

Also if you rearrange waviddu it spells out David Wu, which is the name of the poster who “emailed” Gabe Newell and magically got the same response but forgot to mention it, according to that valvetime link.

Despite the legitimacy of this email, there’s still no point in forming any speculation about the game. It’s not going to speed anything up in the slightest.

We’d all be better off ignoring anything concerning this game until it’s released.

This isn’t proof. It’s text that could easily be edited to say anything anyone wants it to say.

This Thread was created over a (fake) Email?

Jesus Guys, Come on…

Motherfucka, you dare to post fake email here?

Valve created a filter so when any new mail contains the words: “HL3”, “Half-Life 3”, “EP3”, “Episode 3” you get that response :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s so cool, OP! As it happens I emailed Gabe a couple of days ago and got this response:

Seems legit.

Learn from this guy OP.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
