Welcome to the new server.

Just a quick note. From the main page, the link to the forums (fora?) is still linking to https://forums.blackmesasource.com and not showing the most recent headers. I’m sure you’re probably still working on backend stuff, but unless https://www.forums.blackmesasource.com is going to be a temporary URL, then ignore me.

EDIT: Okay, I just rechecked. It’s fixed. Thanks a bunch for all the great work you’ve done, guys. I don’t know if you’re thanked enough but I do thank you myself.

Aww, we love you too!

I can feel the speed… Thanks guys!

Haha. The old server had a 10 mbps port, and it was maxed out almost 24/7 :S

Nice work as always lads. Here’s hoping to smooth sailing until release!

I didn’t notice any sluggishness. Only the occasional downtime.

BUT HEY THIS IS BETTER I THINK

Aren’t most network ports 1000mbps these days? Do you mean the internet speed?

well remember this is a free mod, they only earn money from advertisements (i guess), so 1GBPS internet speed would be too much to pay?

Welcome, Welcome to server number 2. You have chosen, or been chosen, to relocate to one of our finest remaining internet servers.
I thought so much of server number 2 that, I elected to establish my administrators here, for the black mesa site so thoughtfully provided by, our benefactors.
Whether you are here to stay, or just passing through on your way to troll the forums, welcome, to server number 2. Its faster here.

Lovely, tis mighty fast now.

Ya they usually are, but we went to an unmetered port, which for a 100 mbps port would be insanely costly.

Yes the advertisements definitely help cover the cost of the server (which is somewhat expensive :stuck_out_tongue: ).

awesome, thx!
(is your server in canada, again?)

Ya, still in canada. Same host and stuff, just a new server with a better CPU, RAID 1 HD config, and a 50 mbps unmetered port =]

I love the furniture and wallpaper guys, this new place is great! Nice view of the interwebs looking to the north too
.

i can see russia from my house…

I’m sorry Hubi, the server is in nowhere near Alaska.

:3 Me likey.

I know, haha :3

I actually experienced a minute of downtime just now (not on my end) when trying to reply on a thread, but as I don’t want to spoil the fun I won’t mention it! <3

Ya… Apache still needs some tweaking (haven’t got around to it yet), but it’s definitely a better server that’s for sure.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
