And here it is
JESUS
THE HELL IS THAT?
Looks like something out of Doom.
Actually, it kind of looks like the giant rubber poop monster from Dogma.
that’s freakin awesome dude! You sure have skillz!
Looks like something I killed in the kitchen last night.
It was supposed to be a centipede demon. But in the interest of actually finishing it this decade, its now going to be a shorter beetle demon.
Yes it is.
Lumpy Centipede Jesus
First time i read the thread name, I swear it said, “Welcome to my bed”
whet the hell is going on in this part ? The more i try to figure oput what part overlaps what the more my head hurts, its some kind of mindfuck O_o
I think blue just needs a different screenshot from a different angle?
Blender == win && 95% of that == win.
However, you need slap some subsurf on those horns.
Good eye my friend, what you are looking at is some backfacing polygons. I still need to make the inside of the carapace, so rather than have a gap there I just made the poly’s render double sided.
i think mattemuse chose that one intentionally, to confuse us ;D
on a more constructive note, i think you schould establish more define forms on the hands and legs, especially show something that would look like muscles ;]
a great example of a similar work done by the best cg sculptor alive, also i will warn that cedric isnt human, no one can get to that level of skill

check out rest of his gallery, i always go there for inspiration
I’m getting that same feedback from many sources, Blue - my sculpt is too noisy/detailed and needs more definition. All I can say is I intend to give the whole thing a once-over with pinch/flatten tools so I can make some of the details more subtle and some more defined. Anything more than that, it’s just not going to happen, since the deadline for the contest is Monday. This is my first complete high-res character sculpt, so I will keep your advice in mind on my next project - and hopefully by that time I’ll have obtained Zbrush or Mudbox, so I can compete with the big dogs ; D
looks very good to me. ok, it’s a bit noisy but it looks good.
btw:how to sculpt? I ever wanted to, but I don’t know how.
rate your box modeling skill in 0-10 and i will tell you what to start with ;]
uhm… hard to say, I think something around 6 or 7… maybe…
