Weapon Changes (or lack of changes, mostly)

Exactly - and it is not that confusing. The GLOCK and the MP 5 using the same kind of Ammo in reality (9 x 19 mm Parabellum). The only difference is the Clip. But the HL 2 SMG is based on the MP 7 (the HL2 Model looks different from the real gun) and that one uses 4,6 x 30 mm. the HL2 Pistol (USP Match) uses the 9mm Ammo again. (Note US people would write it 4.6 instead of 4,6)

I found it funny in the movies when they throw away empty clips because they are actually made to be refilled in a few moments. Throwing them away is waste of material…

yer or in metal gear solid 2 where u end up with hundreds of empty usp magazines ( i meen gun magazines not the book things in mgs2 :stuck_out_tongue: )

Woah… that just gave me a tactics idea. You know all those times when there’s extra ammo lying around, but you’re already full? Grab the extra ammo, drop it while you’re fighting, then pick it up. Muahahaha.

Played through HL:Source recently and it bugged the hell out of me not being able to do that, lol. Would definitely be good for things like the Tau/Gluon ammo packs (dunno 'bout anyone else, but I tend to keep the ammo for them in reserve in case I need to open a can of serious whoop-ass on something).

My first play through, I used the tau cannon once (to blow up the copter after the dam) and the Gluon gun once (to kill the Nihilanth). Afterwards I found out that the gluon gun was great for taking out controllers and chargin’ mah laz0r was great for taking out that one rocket-tank in that alley before the huge freakin’ ammo closet (<3) and that walljumping puzzle.

Well ain’t that a corker. Will those texture files be ready-to-find in the mod’s folders or will we have to use GCFScape to dig them up? :fffuuu:

Actually, they throw away magazines. A clip is what you use to refill a magazine.

I almost thought you guys had made the glock a glock 18 when I saw the trailer because of how fast you could shoot it lol. Wouldn’t be a bad addition… :smiley:

It has been capped since the trailer…you can click fire fast, but you will be unable to exceed set restraints…

Mods don’t use GCFs… Well unless it is a mod hosted by valve on steam.

It took you until now to figure that out? I remember being in Ravenholm for the first time and trying to carry around a milk crate full of medkits and ammo. Didn’t work out so well, so I tried punting the stuff to where I knew I was going to be.

It’s called mp5. There’s no “normal machine gun” cause every machine gun has it’s own name.

If only you could use the crowbar like normal people and just pop the top of a crate open…

Just so you know, not all bolt action rifles have fixed magazines. There are rifles with detachable magazines out there. :wink:

actually, the 1st/2nd fire affects damage and ammo consumption rate.
