AFAIK the “controllability” of the rpg will be between HL1 and HL2.
What? Why not? :[

That one seems strange to me, the HL: S crossbow does pin enemies to walls. Doubtless the devs have their reasons.
the one in half life 1 it’s a wooden-like one , not performant like in half -life 2 , in reality , it’s a normal crossbow , ever seen a man pinned to a wall coz of a crossbow?
Wait a minute, the glock in Half-Life would fire real fast if you held down the secondary trigger. And in HLS and HL2 the crossbow can nail people to the walls.
So two minor gameplay features that make the game slightly more fun and are totally do-able will not be included for WHAT reason?
This had better not be official.
Woah, i was waiting for something like this
I like the idea of being able to plant a whole clip of bullets into a zombies head.
In reality, a crossbow bolt would probably pass straight through a person, wooden or not.
Ramirezoid: the devs make decisions like this for good reasons. They’re aware of all the factors (engine, balance, aesthetics, etc), so I think we can trust them to make the right choices. Saying things like “This had better not be official.” is just going to get people saying “…or what?”.
ye . it’s not like we’re paying them from our pocket money to work on this mod , they can do whatever they ass want
The Crossbow is a tranquilzer crossbow. It fires tranquilzer darts. Why can people not understand that small flying syringes don’t pin people to walls?
Good point. I’d forgotten that it’s supposedly a tranquiliser gun since it’s used in the game purely as a crossbow (i.e. it doesn’t send the target to sleep like the tranquiliser crossbow in Deus Ex).
You can’t pin enemies to walls?
Oh, good. There’s hope!
Indeed a lot of this was all confirmations by Ram, so knowing how fickle he is about info, it’s possible he was totally lying just to see what type of response there would be to it.
What about if you use the crossbow (Really a tranq gun) and not shoot them in the cranium they lie down for a sec or two and then get up when you least expect it and punch you in the face?! Awesome.
The following pattern is similar to hl2 however we are using the physics engine to simulate its linear and angular movement. Secondary far is like half-life one where you can toggle the laser on and off. The RPG can not be holstered nor reloaded until the rocket is destroyed. The speed has been increased dramatically as well…
Correct
Only an Primary Fire, and yes I sometimes hold down secondary fire expecting it to fire faster, so this may change…
Zoom is currently allowed in DM
Yep
Correct
Correct
It has only a Primary Fire and Secondary Fire does nothing
Hornets generally follow their targets and tend to circle around the victim before impacting or exploding. They are physically simulated and act rather interesting…
Correct

The glock’s secondary is a gameplay feature that may be changed.
The crossbow pinning is visual eye candy that does not make sense considering the size of the darts.
I’m just curious, but can I ask what the rationale was behind not being able to pick up grenades was?
Raminator Forced me
Nice edit there.
Just as well, I’m sure I’m going to find enough ways to blow myself up as it is. Rocket jumping never works like you would think it would.
Will we be able to see the darts stuck into the target?
