I really do need to check what specs my PC at home has.
Exactly.
Thanks!
They have a i7-3770 listed for the recommended CPU. The higher the number, the better the CPU, right? 'Cuz I have a i7-3820. (Sorry for the question. I’m still learning my way around hardware! )
If I want it to look good, I’ll probably need a better graphics card, though. I imagine my GT640 won’t handle this gracefully…

3770 seems to be a bit higher than yours but it’s still close. You should be fine.
I have an i7 950, a couple years old now. Will this suffice? Not very up to date with all the latest cpu infos.
I’m sure your first-gen i7 will do way better than my Q9550
will my i5 2500 suffice?
yours is a 2nd gen i5, if overclocked it should fit right in the middle of those required specs
2500, not 2500k.
it still has the “boost mode” which boosts by about 0.5ghz to 1ghz
k stands for unlocked multiplier, both have unlocked FSB
Thanks for the info! Hope I can swing it. :fffuuu:
Higher numbers being inferior… whoda thunk?
If you already have 4GB, get another 4GB (if possible).
Is your current RAM 2x 2GB or 1x 4GB sticks? If 2x 2GB you might want to replace the existing RAM with 4GB sticks - I tried running 4x 2GB with a QX9650 a while ago and it had issues (refused to boot regardless of speed and timings used)
i have 2x2gb DDR2 and 2 empty slots, but at this time I’m seriously considering a DDR3-enabled Socket 775 motherboard
Might as well just wait for DDR4 .
8g Ram (don’t know what DDR, probably 3 since I got it a year ago).
i5-3570k 3.4GHz.
Nvidia GTX 560 Ti.
That should do, mostly, I guess.
that cpu costs more just because of unlocked multiplier, i hope your board supports overclocking
I don’t overclock.
I was expecting that, what I’m saying is that you wasted extra money on the CPU for nothing because it’s destined for overclockers.
Thanks for sharing about some new good things here. The thread is a good source of entertainment for me.
I liked it when forum bots were straight to the point and just wanted to sell us alligator shoes or stolen credit cards.
These new context sensitive bots are just useless.
custom user page, more than 1 post, no threads created by user and no links in any post = not a bot
and don’t be so harsh, bots have context sensitive feelings too
