ValveTime BlackMesa Gameplay footage

So since the devs have joined in, I am assuming that this is a “controlled” leak or an intended media release.

I liked what I saw in the gameplay, the map design was outstanding, and the gameplay (enemies, guns, etc) looked very well done.

I have had no problem with the voice acting. I wasn’t annoyed by it in the slightest and I personally think it was way above the average voice acting you hear in mods. (I also think it was actually excellent, but I am a native greek speaker, not an english one).

The music seemed a little out of place, but it is something that you can get used to, and it does remind me of some half life 2 pieces… I was however a bit relieved when someone said that this was not actually from the OST… Untill Catz confirmed that the music is indeed Joel’s. So there’s that.

^ You’re in the way of advanced mathematics, Nate…

What if they already started? Think about it;

You said more than a week’s time. Well, about 7 is the number of days in a week, and is also commonly said by the devs. And if they started secretly putting the game on servers “about 7” days ago, then tomorrow the game should be ready. IRONICALLY, the remaining time is 28 hours, which is also about a day. So from a math standpoint, the game will in fact come out tomorrow.

Do you realize how big is what you’re talking about?

I realize how big is what I talk about.

just saw the video its great!

I wouldn’t expect too much from this leak. The devs don’t sound too excited about it - neither positive nor negative.

I haven’t seen the footage yet… and actually I don’t want to. I’m excited about it and I really would appreciate if this was an announce for release. But I simply don’t believe in that. There’s no real need or sense in the devs being subtle about the release date.

They haven’t said anything official about release yet. The won’t say anything official in the context of this leak. There will not be a release in the next few weeks. Period.

Hope you’re 100% sure, I’m gonna quit my job.

^ LOL

My calculations say otherwise, biatch.

I don’t know that that means :o (edit: oh I get it… it’s because of the other posts … )

Anyway, the video is only 3 minutes long and can serve sufficiently as a BMS gameplay teaser. Nothing too spoiler-y is revealed (in my opinion anyway) and you get a good idea about the effort that was put into the mod.

I like it…I like it a lot!

Can I fap to this?

Which doesn’t stop them from being stupid or wrong. :tired:

Can’t tell if serious… or actually expecting the mod to release…

lets me ralistic guys

this is a nice gameplay video, that all.

we all know the release is getting closer but noone know how close until we get a real anoucement so we just keep on waiting, it can be the end of 2012 or the end of 2013 we will never know. but in the meanwhile we can enjoy the video

Man, the shitstorms are raging hard! Word about the mod is certainly spreading though.

I am highly impressed with it. Where do I pay?

hehehe, this is already on G4, i’d say this is an uncontrolled leak…

And they all think that it’s a commercial product than a fan modification.

This is ugly world full of idiots, you can’t change it.

Dev’s reactions sound a little bit like the leak to this news site, when they posted a pic of almost every second they got to play the mod. Those vague dev statements sound like they can’t really say something right now since they have to wait that the whole team agrees on an official reaction. So the release was not intended.

However, expecting a release “soon”, it could be something half official.

I would guess that this media release was from a developer decided to show something so close to the release, but not in agreement with the rest of the team.

Would be nice to get some complete official statement about what happened. German game magazine “Gamestar” already states that the music is not from the mod and that the footage is outdated.

Un Australia, its around 8 pm right now, so a good time for raminator to show up. Come on! Say something. At least make fun of us!

But this whole confusion could be wanted. Are you messing around with us?

Holy mother of god, this is awesome!

Only thing I noticed was the noise occuring when landing a jump. ‘clonk’.
I suppose this sound changes depending on the actual surface you’re landing on, but it was bit… strange.

The voice acting is REALLY good imo, however there is no flow in the conversation, it’s almost like they wait 1 second every sentence and before they answer each other.

Other than that, it’s bloody phenomenal! Everything!

Gimme gimme gimme!
