God damn there’s a lot of hate over stupid things. As always. Everyone’s a critic… Looking at this 3 minute video (and the other media) the team has done better than some developers did with budgets of thousands to millions of dollars. The voice acting is fine. Listen to resident evil 1 sometime. Better than that, and with volunteers. Iron sights aren’t going to ruin the experience. Neither will bullsquids with eyes on top. And if they do ruin it for you, go fix it yourself when the game’s out, you whiny bitches.

Loved the video, intentionally leaked or not. Funny how Black Mesa is supposed to make a more seamless transition between HL and HL2 and yet looks more advanced than HL2 in many ways

if that’s actual real gameplay of the mod (looks pretty real to me) it looks fantastic, you’ve all done a great job on it
now i’ll just sit and wait patiently again until it’s actually released, watched pot doesn’t boil I guess…

It’s a bit older than that. Only about a week or two back further though. I remember there was a whole thread about it but I think it either got locked or deleted entirely. Apparently, a fan asked a dev to show him some footage and the dev recorded some over Skype and gave it to him and the fan posted it online.
Shortly thereafter, someone found the video and made a thread about it. Then from what I remember, (it all happened within a few hours and I happened to be online at the time) the thread was locked and/or deleted and I think the original video was taken down. it was cool to see it but it was more of a really poor quality slideshow than actual gameplay.
Then today, Lambda Generation picked up on it, likely out of curiosity of them trying to find other “leaked” content.
What really intrigues me though is that both of the videos are stated to contain “outdated” builds. Are we talking just a few weeks or is it like months or even years old? This is almost like its own ARG.
It’s probably to cover the dev’s asses in as much as the players won’t know for sure how old the footage is until it’s released, by which point you won’t care how old it is as you’ll be playing the game itself.

I agree with you, the video is absolutely great. But unless the voice acting was intended to be like that then it is bad. The guys voice is cool but the delivery is oozing cheesiness.

It’s 3:10 in the morning and I may be going a little psychotic here but… The video ends with the PA system saying “20 seconds remaining until launch.” It’s been a bit longer than 20 seconds but maybe that’s pointing to another important launch. If you get my drift.
Lololol. Never thought about that. Probably not but maybe, 20 days? This whole situation is screwy, with CatzEyes saying they are stopping the media campaign because of criticism, and the next day a massive video leak occurs with no (or at least no competent) coverup? It’s fishy is all I’m saying.
What I find interesting is that they said to Valve Time that they’re aware of the video and the source. But they have no comment. So maybe someone on the team leaked it out? We know that not every member is working on it but they all have access to the latest builds. And we also know (or can assume) that all of the team members aren’t exactly buddy buddy as some of the others are.
Of course, it could still be a big ploy/ARG-type thingy to get everyone hyped up for a release.
But yeah, something’s very fishy. I expect we’ll hear something within the next 24 hours.

So let’s measure it in Valve time:
According to this chart -if you click on the full link- "any minute now" is translated into 5 days Valve time.
Considering 20 seconds is approximately a third of a minute, a third of 5 days would be have to be measured in hours; five days is 120 hours.
So a third of 120 hours is 40, which means… [COLOR=‘Red’]the mod will be released in 40 hours![/SIZE]

EDIT: The video was posted about…12 hours ago, so 40 - 12 = 28, 28 more hours, in this day the devs will change some things that they heard about the ones that cried about some fearures (personally i loved them), and past tomorrow it will be released. But, considering the time that could take to upload aprox. 15gb…to different severs…it could take more than a week…so i think we overreacted…
