I have 2 words to say: Positively incredible. Eveything about this is awesome, I love the music, Voice Acting is clear and great. Its just…just…mindblowing. The only nitch I have is I can’t hear the explosions of the grenades or satchel charges or MP5 grenades very well. Something to improve on, I guess.

How are the devs supposed to know what the supposed ‘majority’ thinks when the supposed ‘majority’ supposedly sits on their asses saying nothing?

Notice how the most consistent complaint was about the grunts VA. And notice how the majority of those who complained (I can vouch for myself at least) actually cared to provide their reasoning, unlike the ones who’s fanboy senses were tingling and who went all ‘oooohhhh I like it, so different and original hurrr durrrr’.

HECUs are USMC, who are supposed to be the best of the best, wouldn’t it make sense for them to actually sound like ones?

Apparently people are justified to bitch and moan about FF cinematic mod deviating from original (with the stuff being mostly optional), but BM is excused of all the constructive criticism because, derp, they see devs as artistic gods who do not make mistakes and don’t have to listen to any ‘piffling criticism’.

It is also quite surprising that devs actually listened. But it seems that no deadline pressure plays a positive role compared to what is considered norm in the commercial industry today.

Also, I didn’t ask for gasmasks myself, but look up what HECU acronym stands for, derp.

However, can Ram clarify this:

I think the music had something to do with that, the way it just started as soon at the explosion started. It was pretty loud!

Personally, the Iron sights never bothered me and neither the music. The voices are another thing though and I am happy that you are going to change them.

I do hope you find another alternative for the soldiers though, I wouldn’t like to see all of them wearing gas masks - especially since all faces will be unique. Can’t you just give them a headset with a microphone?

To be fair, one is developed by a sexually frustrated foreveralone sitting in Germany dedicated to bending a pre-existing game to be more like a movie, and the other is developed by a myriad of different people with different backgrounds, occupations, and nationalities, all coming together to re-build something from the ground up.

It’s kinda funny though that both mod’s goals are to be different than their source material, and…yeah. It’s those exact qualities people are bitching about like you said.

After lurking through the forums for the best part of this mod’s development I’ve finally decided to post. And the only reason to do that is because as someone a few pages above noted, most of the feedback in cases like these comes from people who disliked something about what has been shown. While those who like what they’ve seen just decide not to say anything. Which results in a seemingly negative overall view.

Well, I for one really liked what I saw, and I am so hyped right now that I will be spending the whole weekend replaying for the what I think would be the 50th time all the Half-Life games. That’s pretty much it. Thank you, devs for everything and keep up the brilliant work!

I totaly agree with you, only the negative things can be seen here or utube. I grow up with the source engine I was waiting for this for 6 years. Releasing the “mod” will be the best thing that can happen in my life…

I don’t get why everyone is always so touchy about what people think about the mod. “People will complain!” “People will whine!” “People will be hyped and think the mod will release soon!” all of these are excuses used by both the developers and fans as to why the devs don’t release more media or information on the mod.
