Same. I trust the devs understand what made fighting the HL1 HECU so much more interesting than the combine, but I’d like to be able to see that kind of stuff in action nonetheless.
Hell, even if they just gave some people here raw footage demoing the stuff and asked us to edit and string it together to make something like that ^ would be pretty sweet.
So I’m guessing that since they are making it so everyone has a gas mask on that mean no more grunts with cigars huh? Too bad because that guy on the front page looked bad ass!
The Commanders smoke the Cigars, Commanders don’t wear gas masks, along with the Medics.

I’m probably wrong but can you show me where they say the cigs are just for the commanders?

As long as most of the soldiers have gas masks, I think many people will be happy. Gas masks really play-off the whole Hazardous Environmental Combat Unit thing. It also adds sense – why would someone soldiers wear gas masks and ruin their peripheral vision if others are not? Having most soldiers wear them in case of hazardous waste lying around make much more sense. Commanders are usually reckless and it is believable that they wouldn’t wear them.
Huh, I guess I just remembered wrong. But still, Commanders/squad leaders don’t wear masks so if one of them spawns with a Cigar you’ll see it.
That says standard marines, not commander/squad leader marines. Again I’m not saying that anyone is wrong I just cant find anything that says the cigs were for the commanders and i think it would be a shame to lose the cigars.
Squad Leaders/commanders wear Red Berets. The guy on the main page is wearing a red beret.

ffs you keep changing what you’re saying. You said cigars were used by standard marines, and I’m saying that they’re not. Like the post from the wiki said; only Squad leaders and Commanders have cigars capabilities.
My fault as well, I forgot how dark the front page image was. I was confusing it with the image on the wiki.
I have to mention that since the leak was uploaded here (hopefully I’m allowed to put this here) the feedback has been about 1000x more positive.
I just read the past 15 pages in this thread and it was embarrassing to read. every page is the same shit of people asking questions that have already been answered. We all knew the fucking music has been changed since about page 3.
and Okay, now we know they changed how soldier’s faces work by all using military issued gasmasks with radio effects on their manly-upped voices. that’s great news. That just makes red beret commanders, cigar-smoking shotgunners, medic badasses, scientists, and gaurds even more unique. That’s good, people.

In both quotes I am saying the same thing, those quotes don’t conflict with each other. I never changed my question nor does the wiki say that about it only being the commanders, in fact the wiki says that standard marines, and not commanders, have cigars. But at Tuskin38 pointed out their are pictures of a commander with a cigar so that let me know that commanders can have them too.
