ValveTime BlackMesa Gameplay footage

Aaaand now it starts to hurt both parties reputation

This whole thing is fucking fruity; it’s like a war-zone in here…

It shouldn’t be. The devs don’t want it leaked. So take it down. Pretty good explanation, why ValveTime shouldn’t have put it up in the first place here amd here.

Where did you hear Valvetime’s opinion after it was taken down, Bloodshot?
Edit: I guess that explains it…

Nice to hear the track used isn’t final and looking forward to the updated track.

As for the confusion…

Those that represent the dev’s on facebook/twitter really need to figure out what is going on before posting, i.e… misleading comments on the cancelation of the Social media campaign. Pointless, cryptic film references and saying things are final when it’s clear they are not. The music track a prime example.

The debacle over the video leak tops it all off…

I hope you guys get to put out a official statement on the future of the campaign and of course, release a correct and up-to-date gameplay video!

This is turning into a bigger issue than it seemed to be at first. Now we really know why the devs where so concerned/stressed earlier. Hope everything gets worked out.

EDIT: I’m in agreement with Reaps, I think a dev should post some kind of press release on the forums and clear everything up. Kind of like how Gabe Newell did for the HL2 theft way back in '03. Kind of funny how the HL2 theft and this video thing kind of mirror each other in a certain way.

looking forward to see the history of BM development and explanations of critical points during those years in the “All your history are belong to us” series …

That would be cool to see with the release of Deathmatch. Like a documentary of what was happening behind the scenes all these years - right under our noses.

allright this is my opinion, otherwise BMS team did amazing job!

Haha. Did anyone but me notice that over the advertisement it says “Thank you ValveTime!”?

It’s funny, at first if I saw that the song was an old track when the vid was first released, I would have said “yay”

But now I actually like it, even though it feels out of places.

Welp, I’m a tad disappointed by whats happening. I hope everything goes well, but ah, its a hope.

I really do hope these guys can resolve their problems, because as it stands now, it’s not good for either the BM devs, or Valvetime’s reputation, especially since people like to construe situations to fit their personal feelings.

It seems to be growing on everyone -including me- ironically.

I think they took it down. Where did it link to? Their website?

I know that you said that people like to change situations as they see fit, but why would this hurt the BM devs? They clearly said that they didn’t want the video posted. And ValveTime went ahead and did it anyways. ValveTime seems to be going off of the idea that what they did was journalism. Not saying it isn’t. But I’m not saying it is either.

Well, more in the sense that people are already spinning it. Some people are saying BM’s devs are in the wrong for having it removed - while preposterous, people will still agree with it.

I don’t think it would hurt the mod in the long run of course, but I just think it’d be better if there wasn’t tension between them or anything like that.

It linked to a froum post by Smash, where he was talking about how the Black mesa team shouldn’t have taken down the vid.

This summer… Black Mesa developers take on… Dirty Journalism.

the track will not be used??? the fuck… it has grown on me and I’m already feeling nostalgic :frowning:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
