In HL1, when you press the launch button, the safety windows shut to prevent any risk.
There, when you press the launch button, the safety windows open. Why ? So people can witness their eyes getting burnt ?

Your eyes will be burnt by the awesome special fx that comes out of the rocket launch. If you want to shield your eyes you can safely look away from your monitor.

So, any word yet on what we can expect as far as an official release of this gameplay? Just a cleaned up version of the same footage on the BMS YouTube channel or a completely new recording?

There will be no new media until release. Raminator has explained that they will not upload a new version because two versions of the same video would just confuse the situation further.
I’m guessing that the DEV Team is Going to let the fluttery Clusterfuck settle itself down and cool off before considering releasing anything else big.

I believe the whole “no media until release” is not set in stone yet. Some of the devs want that, but AFAIK there hasn’t been an actual final decision from the whole team.
I think that the soundtrack is fucking AMAZING! I really hope they are going to release this mod soon

There’s been some debate within the team about recording an updated version that addresses the feedback we’ve received, but I can’t yet confirm if we’ll actually be able to do that.”
Then again, catzeyes93 said the whole media campaign was cancelled, then Raminator said there was a miscommunication somewhere and I think it was katana that said "Actually, based on some of the developer talk, it seems there may be zero new media until release; partially due to the fact that this was unnecessarily leaked and we kind of just have to live with the situation, which means not having two videos of the exact same gameplay segment with “spot the difference”.
I was just hoping for an update on the whole confusing jumble.

Yeah, I wish I knew where that sat, but I doubt we’ll ever get an official statement. Probably just have to wait and see.
I thought the same, but I assumed it was to show off the visuals. Still, not sure about the practicality of it, unless there is some sort of real-life glass that acts as a blast shield

Generally this gameplay is awesome, but I have a few nitpicks which I hope the BM devs can address before release:
a) Gordon should not sing in BM. I don’t know what they were going for, but I don’t think it will work
b) Can you make the forced third person an option? I think it might get confusing, especially watching gordon dance like that.
c) Why did this video only show off the dance moves? I wish we could have seen at least some crowbar action
d) I don’t recognize the background maps. Is this a new area or has it been so enhanced that we wont recognize it anymore?
e) please make the sunglasses an option. I prefer the original glasses
f) please make the “casual” hazard suit an option. I dont really like the new suit, and it doesnt really fit the HL style. Especially the trenchcoat
