lolno
welcome to 2011.
And still, nobody knows his real name.
I would bet every penny of that $1 million that when Dota 2 is released, pissy fanboys will flood the internet.
Really? Then, please, tell us how it feels to swim on pools full of money, mister multimillionaire.
ROFLMFAO HOLY WAFFLES I CAN’T STOP LAUGHING
I feel pity for your californicated soul.
1 million u.s. dollars split between several people isn’t a shitload of money.
Especially nowadays. A decent 2-room apartment is a maximum you can afford from it (not counting the split) from where I’m sitting.
For other mundane everyday purposes, I fared rather well with my own salary so far, no cheesy lotteries whatsoever.
Then move somewhere with decent home prices. You could get a big house with that money around here.
Does that big house also come with a nice location? Can I expect it not to start rotting and copllapsing in 10-15 years? Does that 1 mil U.S. dollars include further maintenance, taxes and bills? transport expenses?
And do you think real estate will stay that way for long?
You can get a pretty decent house and maintain it for that money as long as home prices are low in the area, and in Houston, they are.
You can’t live in it for too long, but hey, you could get a couple of years. Maybe.
see… 1 mil isn’t really worth shit unless you can maintain it.
It won’t make your life, but its a nice bonus. A really nice bonus.
A five bedroom well-built home on 45 acres was just sold on my street for $375,000. Granted, I live in the middle of nowhere, but it’s beautiful out here and the drive’s not that far.
Oh, several people. I thought it was just one guy.
Alright alright.
You americans spend your money as soon as you have it. 1 million dollars could solve all your material problems, if you don’t do anything stupid like buying a 1 mill apartment.
I’d put all the money into a medium-high risk stock portfolio, here in Peru. 20-50% growth per year, not counting dividends. Dividends alone would allow one to retire and live in relative luxury.
The best answer, as always, is investments.
I’ve heard americans simply print more money each time they need it… What’s the point of winning prizes for them anyway…?
Oh yeah all us Americans suck, lets turn this into the anti-american thread instead of talking about Dota 2.
Well, I’m glad to see Dota 2 is launching with a big bang. Now maybe Valve can focus on what we all really want, but they’ve failed to deliver thus far.
Fart Cops.
The prize will be divided, that is why people in this thread are saying it is not much. It is a nice prize but it won’t make anyone very rich.
By the way, the teams that will compete are either from Europe or from Asia.
How many players are there in each team? I never played Dota.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
