Valve rules

Last I checked Zombies can survive in sunlight :hmph: .

Dead rising took place at day (Half the time), RE4 took place during the day. What’s wrong with zombies during the day?

Dead Rising’s gameplay was deigned with shitty controls and a time limit to give a player a sense of fear and urgency, not matter what time of day it is. Combined with the massive amount of on screen zombies, and you’re shitting yourself.
RE4’s art direction was very dark and depressing, and it worked. (Also, notice how you didn’t use RE5 as an example. I think I see why. )
Left 4 Dead 2 is in broad daylight in New Orleans, and you’re armed to the teeth.
To be fair, only half of the campaigns were in daylight, and the original L4D wasn’t that scary either.

I really love the source engine. IMO its where all gaming engines should aim for. Where shitty computers can still make a game look good and not that fucking retarded Crysis bullshit, where you need a super computer to run it to the max.
I really hope in 10yrs Valve creates a gaming engine to end all gaming engines. Where only 128 of ram could still let you run things to the max. Im just talking shit here but at least its my dreamy shit

Definitely weren’t massive amounts of zombies in L4D2. Yep, barely saw any. (Filled a larger percent of your screen, it think), and you felt pretty rushed to get through the levels when the Director keeps shoving hoards into various bodily orifices.

I agree that neither of the L4D games were supposed to be scary, though, not all zombie games are. Dead Rising, for example.

Love Valve, even though they should hire some better Spanish voice actors

Come on folks, this is a valve rules thread, say why valve sucks in another one 'k

You want to know why? because using darkness as a scare factor is easy mode.

I don’t mean as a scare factor. Shooting zombies in daylight just doesn’t feel right…

That’s why you fight against zombies, not vampires

I only started playing Half Life for the first time about a month ago (a crime, I know), and I was really impressed. I’ve been going HL crazy ever since.
Thankful to have Valve on earth.
Steam is pretty cool too.

Shooting vampires in the daylight would be like shooting anorexics in a dressing room.

Er, valve rocks! (?)

Yes, valve rocks.

Indubitably.

Valve rocks as long as I get my Linux Steam!
<.<

.>

Valve is my favorite Publisher/Developer.They do indeed rock. Can’t wait for the "surprise"announcement at GDC tomorrow.looks at the sky with nostalgic look

It would only be a crime to say one of the following:
1.) That you had not played it and had no intention of playing.
2.) That you had played it and thought it was bad.
3.) That you had not played it and thought it was bad.
4.) That you do not properly pay tribute to your gods by gluing various plumbing valves to your head whilst flailing a crowbar wildly.

Can be yellow, orange and red as well

Dodo, ostriches, emus, kiwibirds, and so on.

Not -just- water.

I wasn’t too hot for the Bioshock 2 story :<

Valve, GREAT JOB!

… :meh:

Why do you always have to be such a fun kill?

And I said BioWARE, not BioSHOCK!

O RITE :<

They killed L4D. I loved that game so much and now nobody wants to play it (except noobs, laggers and rage quitters), because there is L4D2.

Apart from that: Valve rocks!

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
