Oh hey look what i found on this Article just came out from VG247, Uwe Boll who bought you shitty movies based on video games like, House of the Dead, and Alone in the Dark, wants $500.000 of your money for his up coming film Postal 2 sequel project on Kickstarter.
Rampage was a better Postal movie than the Postal movie. I don’t know what’s up with him, Rampage wasn’t bad but every other movie he’s made is.
Why do game companies keep selling him the rights to their properties?
I have no idea, I guess because the video game creators wants their franchise to be destroyed, except for Blizzard Entertainment who bought you Warcraft series, who refuse to sell the rights to him years ago.
UPDATE:
So yeah I’m boycotting his Kickstarter campaign all the way, who’s with me?
Well haven’t seen he’s movie Rampage, so I can’t tell you that if it’s good or not, but what I do know that, the vast majority movie’s he made are shit.
I believe Hideo Kojima also called him a “talentless hack.”
You go girl, that’ll teach him.
lol
People actually think that Uwe Boll tries to make good movies? Making shitty movies is his trade, and he’s a frigging master in it.
He doesn’t want his movies to be good, he doesn’t want to make movies that do the original material any justice, he just wants to make b-film-quality movies because he knows there’s a market for it.
The fact that you worry so much that this Kickstarter might be going somewhere is proof enough that there’s an audience for his movies, whether you like them or not.
Just let it be and don’t watch the movie. Live and let live and all that jazz.
Well I’m not really that worry about it, if these people want to put their money on Kickstarter, that’s fine with me, I’m not stopping them.
I actually liked his take on Postal oddly enough. First game movie that felt right.
What, the Sands of Time adaptation wasn’t good for you? I thought it did quite well for what it was. Plus, the film’s script was written by Jordan Mechner (the game’s screenwriter and the original designer of the series), so there’s that.
I enjoyed Sands of Time, but I never played the games, so there is that…
I know why he makes them, which is why I question the developers that allow him to mangle their works like that. What do they get out of his work?
What have they got to lose? Not like his films are used as promotional material for the game.
It makes it harder for them to make a really good movie based on their game when a real director that understands what he is doing and respects the source material comes up with a better idea down the road (just because game movies mostly suck doesn’t mean they always will).
I saw SOT in a drive in movie theater, and drove out half way through.
That’s not enough for me. WHY did you drive away halfway through. It isn’t a bad movie on its own right. It explains everything that happens pretty well. It doesn’t jump around so much that you can’t follow it. The exposition is worked into the story well enough. What was your problem with it that you couldn’t finish watching it?
You do realize that if you didn’t mention the Kickstarter campaign, people here probably would not have known about it, right?
You do realize the original Postal was basically intended to be one of the most offensive movies ever made? Honestly, it sounded like it was totally in the spirit of the anarchic, crude, and crazy games.
Also, TGP: Play the original Sands of Time. It’s even better than the film treatment and the platforming has aged quite gracefully. The banter between the Prince and Farah is also totally worth the price of admission alone. Which is ~$10 USD, by the way. So you have no excuse
