Maybe Epic could pull a Bungie and get People Can Fly to take over Gears while they go on to do different shit. idk.
Minecraft is a level editor.
Enough to buy every Epic employee 10 Lambos. Vroom vroom.
It’s kinda hard to believe that we still use static lightmaps for a lot of stuff.
I mean, we should be way past using static stuff with todays current tech.
Well, it’s happening.
Yep, at least we are finally moving forward. I really hope if sony/microsoft takes a while to release the next line of consoles they don’t wait to allow use of these engines.
Oh wow, Xalener. That avatar is perfect, only wish I had thought of such a brilliant idea.
(In case someone is reading this months from this post and can’t see his avatar as it was at the time, MINOR SPOILERS FOR RIDLEY SCOTT’S PROMETHEUS its a picture of the beginning of Prometheus, with the Engineer replaced with “Handsome Squidward”. Look it up. I hate it when I read old posts, and someone mentions another person’s avatar, but its long changed.)
I was looking at his new signature actually. The ads that find their way onto the site. lol I hope Google AdSense is working for you guys.
Douchebags or not, my god Epic really have set the bar again. Can you believe that 20 years from now this will look primitive? God I love technology.
I’m more in love with the fact that they’re using this cutting edge shit to make a game that isn’t anywhere near photorealistic, and it looks fucking GREAT.
Seriously, You’d expect any company that would have developed an engine this advanced would just go HUURRRR GRIT HUUUUUURRRR WAR DESTRUCTION NEW YORK NANOSUIT ASJKOFHLKJSDLKGJHLSJADFLKH, but nope.
Applause waz had. I guess it also means that the first UE4 footage we saw was last year , and we didn’t even know it.
The game they’re making with it doesn’t look like it would be that intensive to run but will it be? It most likely will use most of the new tech in UE4 but just looking at the game it’s bizarre that it’s running on an engine that none of the consoles can play .
Unless the maps are ungodly huge, or the textures are on a whole nother level of high rez (which they appear to be).
maybe its just me but i hate this plastic … feel … that any unreal engine always has…
But a engine is a tool after all, we’ll have to see how devs use it
That does look really good.
I hope both that and the MWO game succeed. Not enough multiplayer mech simulators around. I’m curious to see what MWO devs do with CE3, and if they can make it look as cool as that
