This Mod over Fakefactory’s IMO. Much better and only about 1 GIG to download compared to at least over 10GB.

A few oddities with it though… but if you can stand them its fine :slight_smile:

I downloaded the cinematic mod simply because I wanted to see this version of Alyx https://screenshots.filesnetwork.com/32/files2/88111_1.jpg, wearing this armor https://www.cinematicmod.com/images/cm_10/cm_10_27.jpg. Sadly I was disappointed as all I got was the annoying Adriana Lima model in the armor, and a version of Alyx that looked like she was a Meth addict. :fffuuu:

I really like that first link of Alyx. I loved the original face, and I cannot complain about the body. :slight_smile:

Has anyone had trouble viewing achievements? It tells me I must be logged into steam to view or unlock them. But if I am playing the game with steam running, I am obviously already logged in.

Stop using steam in-game browser until the new UI comes out.

What I mean is, in HL2 update, when I click on achievements, it tells me i must be logged into steam. I cannot view them or achieve them.

The exact error is “you must be logged into steam to unlock or view achievements”

EDIT: Upon further review, I cannot access the achievements in any of my games. It must be a steam problem. Go figure.

According to the most recent update in the mod’s thread over at steam forums, the 2.0 version of the update will be available for download very VERY soon.

Changelog for 2.0 version since the patched* 1.0 version:

I sure hope the installer won’t ask for 5Gb free space on mah C:\ for no reason whatsoever like the first version did. I dont have that much why do you need it youre not even installing it there extract your files somewhere else ffs. /rant

Anyway, IMO the update makes HL2 have more ‘fancy graphigz’ but I prefer the look of vanilla HL2.

Filip has stated that the new installer for version 2.0 won’t have this bug that was present in the version 1.0 one.

I don’t think there is such “vanilla” version of HL2 anymore. Valve officially patched it already in 2010 adding achievements and “improved graphical effects”. Filip’s mod is said to be doing this same thing… better and at the same time not having bugs that were introduced by Valve’s official update.

Unless you consider :pirate:ing a non-steam version as an option, you do have a point there.
Valves update on the graphics is very minor though.
