There were rumours many months ago, that Valve was working on a space game. The scene with the swarm could be the space game SOB.
That is cool. The space thing looked cool but I hope there is more too it than that… I don’t want it to be HL3 or anything…
SOB stuff looks pretty neat. Would be cool if Valve starts another good flagship series, as long as Half-Life isn’t thrown to the curb.

Honestly I’d be OK if they released something else before the next HL game… all of the success and finding out what does and doesnt work in their games is something they can apply to HL to make it that much better of a game. Plus a lot of the experimental stuff they are working on im sure will yield some pretty interesting results. As much as i do reallly want to play the next game, i’m fine with waiting for however long it takes. whenever it does come out, i’m sure it will be quite amazing. if they release other really fun games along the way, fine with me. (i do understand i am probably a minority with this mindset but oh well)
I’ve given up all hope of seeing HL3 or Episode 3. We’ve been waiting for 5 years without any sort of indication that the project is even being worked on. I would not be remotely surprised if Valve haven’t even started making the next HL episode. As for this stuff, it doesn’t really excite me that much, seeing as I doubt I would be interested in a space game by Valve unless it’s connected to HL/Portal, and the engine features probably won’t be properly implemented into any game of interest to me for a while.
Honestly, Valve have been pretty quite recently. After the release of Portal 2 over a year ago, all we’ve really seen is some CS:GO footage and this random stuff. Either they’re working on something big (ie. HL) or nothing at all and just rolling out all these smaller games.

Then you clearly didn’t play them. Because they show real Valve quality. (Except the Animations and 3D-Models in CS GO, but Hidden Path is making them).
2 projects in a year aren’t quantity. Valve has always released one game each year, now it’s just one more. CS GO doesn’t even have a big team, since it’s going to be a download only title.

Same thing as BM basically. Since their last major announcement was a flub (Half life 2 was set to release a year before it actually did), they don’t want to make that mistake again. They’re going to announce HLwhateverthefuck when it’s near completion. Like, near completion.
I can stop you right there and say that a recent interview with the voice actor of Dr.Kleiner clearly states that there is a new Half-Life game in progress.
Also, I’ve heard from people who have gotten a tour of Valve HQ and they said they saw a lot of concept art for Half-Life and Valve’s new (yet unnamed) “mysterious space game”.
