UNFORESEEN CONSEQUENCES - Stuck here?

There’s two valves, one in the same room as the security station is, one in the room at the other end of the catwalk.

I never really understood that puzzle in the first place. I feel like it wasn’t communicated too well, but hey.

Plus the screenie, of course.

Seems they’ll be attempting to remedy that.

What needs to happen here (as I too was lost initially) is to introduce the player to the concept of turning the valve wheels to potentially open doors in a safe environment, perhaps during Anomalous Materials, so that, by that section of the game, the player will be on the lookout for these things, that you turn to fill/empty the “progress bar” (what I call it) above it.

Or perhaps a sign on the door with in-universe text to tell the player to turn the valves to open this door.

Hello,

I am stuck at the last elevator of the chapter, in all of the walk-throughs I’ve watched the elevator is open when the player walks into the room. I have tried pressing the switch but it gives me the sound of unavailable and the elevator does not come up. I am attaching a pictue of the elevator. Anyone have any ideas?

The attachment is not showing. I think it’s a faulty upload. If you’re referring to this elevator:
Image 1 | Image 2

… and that elevator is closed, you probably have found a bug because the doors are supposed to be open. Your options, if this elevator isn’t open to you, is either start a new game at the UC chapter or “noclip” into the elevator to continue.

To noclip (if you don’t know how that works), type sv_cheats 1 into the console, then type noclip. You will be able to pass through the doors. Type noclip again to turn it off and you should be able to press the button to move the elevator to the next chapter. Oh, and type sv_cheats 0 to turn off cheats.

Yes that is the elevator i was referring to. I guess it must be a bug. My friend was just telling me about noclip. Thank you for your help. I will let you know how it goes.

Stucked here - please help, explain what to do, how to go on…

see attachments…

thank you. :expressionless:

Jump on the pipes (jump + duck).

I all. I’m not so much stuck as there seems to be a bit of an issue in the area at the bottom of the fallen lift shaft. I’ve just escorted the scientist to the security station and opened the 2 valves that i can see on the way. Now I’ve stacked the barrels to get into the ventilation shaft and I’m faced with…oh, just white (or red on reload)? Any ideas what’s wrong?

Just realised this should probably have posted in bugs. Sorry

Go into the frozen room from where houndeye jumped out.
That vent was meant to be unaccesable.

Water slide!

Or just reload, if you’re boring.

Stick to the left-hand side, hugging the wall, and hold backwards as you go down. Alternatively you put in the map command. I think it’s “map bm_c1a1d”

where do I find the glock now? The guard who drags himself along the floor does not have it anymore and now I am already facing Houndeyes, just armed with a crowbar. How am I supposed to survive this?
Or did I miss something?
When I picked up the crowbar I jumped back into the vent to grab the pistol from the guard who is calling for help, but when I got there he was gone.
So am I supposed to face Houndeyes with just the crowbar or did I miss anything?

You face a single Houndeye before you get the Glock. Glocks are all over the chapter, after that point.

thanks for the reply! I thought I missed something

You have to use the crowbar to kill the houndeye first, then you get the glock a bit after. :lambda:

Yes, there’s only one houndeye, which can be defeated pretty easily with the crowbar, before you get a gun.

Can someone help me out here? I’ve got back to the main entry area - big Black Mesa Research Facility map on the wall - the the guard guy keeps calling for help over the comms, there is a long drop nearby where a guard falls to his death - as do I. I must have died dozens of times trying to escape this area.

How do I get out out of here? There doesn’t seem to be any escape from this area. The fact its so dark doesn’t help. Still not found any crowbar or weapons yet!
