hokey video games lead to the overly-enthusiastic players craving the most realistic carnage there is. It’s why school shootings happen, and why school shooters listen to rock and roll and wear glasses.
I know you’re not serious but I blame havok. Video game physics always go crazy for some reason.
probably because its not real physics
but im just guessing
Then! THEN! I destroyed an antlion guardian and then clipped right through its dead body! FOR SHAME!
I even heard kids (on other forums) who are in hope that in the near future, games will have more realistic graphics than real life itself.
Uglei fingurs, uglei fingurs…pff, deal with it! I, myself, never get annoyed about things like this. I consider them the part of the game, and therefore a necessity to the overal feeling.
I remember when I first saw the G-man in Half-Life, but with BS’s High Definition Pack… I laughed so laudly…
“games will have more realistic graphics than real life itself”
wattttttttttt
I make 1 joke on the first page and the thread blows up about it.
Do I win?
They do that so you can walk over bodies without getting stuck, you know.
But it’s not realistic! You can’t walk through bodies in real life!
Don’t be a turd. You know good and well (assuming you have any common sense) what can and cannot be practical when it comes to realism in a video game. I’m not saying I like anything impractical in a game.
You used to be able to use cl_ragdollcollide 1, but the new engine update broke it.
Is Valve ever not breaking their own engines?
That’s just one thing. They also broke the Airboat so that it loses all it’s momentum during level switch, and the part in Highway 17 where the Gunship crashes onto the pile of cars.
And it crashes frequently on my system now.
Now, that may be because I have a midtower and a really hot GPU, but alien swarm is more system intensive, and I have yet to have it crash with the same settings.

So you are saying that the hours extra animation work for a change that no one will notice (No, not even you, boyscout) is practical? I question your mental capacity.
You mean you didn’t already? O_o
And trigger discipline is important? Especially since the VAST majority of the time (like, always?), you’re going to be engaged in a firefight with the HECU?
Aw man, I hate that.
Listen, you incessant dorks. What I’m saying, is that if you’re going to animate/model a hand holding a weapon, you might as well do it correctly. In this case (Black Mesa Source) there’s no point in worrying about it, as it’s already done.
Can I be any more clear?
You’re clearly retarded, if that’s what you mean.
