trouble with 3Ds Max material type

hey guys, I need your help with this issue, recently the Material editor has been stuck to only “Mental Ray” when I try to assign renderer to other types, the sample slots still appear as mental ray and can only use Arch & design templates, and I can’t use the default sample slots where I can load a bitmap texture from my PC, so my question is, is there someway that I can reset the renderer editor or something?

Well uhm shit man. I usually use the Standard Material Editor instead of the Slate one so I can’t help you. The Slate one confuses me.
