Is the Italian version really done? I’m playing the game, but I cannot see how to choose italian subtitles…
Options-> Audio, then choose the type of subtitle you like.
Just one more thing: if you wanna use the italian subtitles, Steam must use the italian language.
The italian translation, in the current version of BM, could be better (missing subtitles etc…).
A new version has been completed and will included in the next release(don’t ask me when it will be released!)
Opzioni->Audio e scegli la tipologia di sottotitoli che preferisci.
Una precisazione: per usare i sottotitoli in italiano, Steam deve essere in lingua italiana.
La traduzione italiana che è nella versione corrente del gioco è perfettibile(sottotili mancanti ecc…).
E’ stata infatti completata un’altra traduzione che sarà inclusa nella prossima release(non chiedermi quando verrà rilasciata!).
I know no one posted here since 2 months, but i can help with polish translation. Message me if you are interested.
I would love to help out…
I can set up a team to make a Dutch translation
I want to help translate to German language. I know there already is a german version but there are some dialogs there are no subtitles.
Ohhh,I forgot to finish my Romanian translation, actually I didn’t had time for it.I’ll try to finish it.
Hi guise,
I could help with Polish translation, let me know what to do. I translate official documents as a part of my job, but haven’t translated a game yet. Working on a translation of a game from my beloved series would be a blast.
I think the Polish translation was close to completion. Be sure to check the forum (link on the first post of this thread) and ask around
How about other letters are not included in UCS-2? Vietnamese uses UTF-8, I wonder if it can be used.
If there is need for additional people translating to Bulgarian, I would like to help. What are the requirements?
Sorry for the Necro but I can’t seem to find anywhere else to post this.
Some time ago when Black Mesa was released those qabriel and some guys messaged me saying I shouldn’t worry about translating, they got this translation to Turkish thing under control so I said ok.
Since I can’t see anyone still working on it and I’ve been a translation & interpreting student for a while now I would like to get a confirmation that their project got cancelled before starting to translate it myself and finishing it this time.

I used to be X_Mastershot_X btw, forgot my password.
Is this still a thing? Because I don’t see any activity at all on the translate forums.
Is some one translating mod to russian already? I want to join
Russian translation is long done.
Correction:
Russian translation was done long ago for 2012 mod release, we’d have to re-work it for Steam release. Don’t try to use old translation installers with Steam version.
Hello,
I want to translate the game into Arabic language, but how I can get the subtitles files ?
Hello Stapheen! Thank you so much for your interest in helping out with the translations effort. Adding more languages to the available translation set can only help to further add to the enjoyment of Black Mesa.
Any effort on that front will be greatly appreciated. However right now, I have asked the volunteer translations team to put there efforts on hold for a bit.
Why?
Right now, the captions system on the Steam retail version is in the process of an overhaul, so that all voice-over lines use Soundscripts Entries. (https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Soundscripts)
All the currently available languages on Steam Retail version are being converted to use this system as well. When this update gets pushed out (date TBD), structurally it’s all going to look different than what the mod’s version looks like, but these new versions will serve as the template for any translation efforts going forward.
For when the time comes to start work…
-----------------------------------------------------------
When this update becomes available (date TBD), then you should be able to get right to work. (I deeply appreciate your patience while on standby for this)
First, what you will need to do is grab GCFScape, which allows you to open .vpk files (https://nemesis.thewavelength.net/?p=26)
In your steamapps/common/ folder, Go to “Black Mesa/bms” ,then open the file “bms_misc_dir.vpk”.
Click on the “resource folder”, and you’ll find all the closed caption .txt files there.
thanks for the update, really appreciate it !
