Time Travel

^Correct!

But to be honest: Fast forwarding, slowing down, pausing and even traveling back in time is impossible according to the laws of physics. We have to bend dimensional strings, something we can’t do before we have found a wormhole. Even if there is signs that a wormhole may exist, we still haven’t found any and there wouldn’t be that easy to make a man-made one either. Especially if we haven’t found one natural yet.

we actually have created and observed wormholes, but tiny ones

Once you time travel into the past, you demolish the timeline you’re in. Regardless of what you do, if you time travel back into the future from the past, you would see the other “you”. If you kill “yourself” in the past and time travel into the future, you’ll see “your” corpse (or grave or ashes or whatever). Because you killed the other “you”.

If you take the other “you” back with you into the past, you can pick up a third “you”, then a fourth “you”. Then something like this happens:

If you go forward in time first, that’s a bit trickier. Let’s say you travel into the future 1 year. Depending on when you travel back, you may or may not meet yourself. If you time travel back to a point where you didn’t exist (assuming instantaneous or near-instantaneous Back to the Future style travel), you wouldn’t meet yourself. Because the other “you” is time traveling. However, if you return to your present time to replace the other “you” that is traveling, you’ll meet that replacement.

And, oh no, I’ve gone cross-eyed.

There is a theory that going back in time can make another universe. If you have heard about how electrons move, they basically “teleports” while sometimes scientists mean that they are two places at the same time. This has made a theory that we create new universes all the time!

If time travel really is possible, this could be the explanation why we haven’t seen anyone from the future. There is also a theory that all is already changed and that we are living in the “perfect” past.

Another theory states that if we in for example 2065 invent a time machine, we would only go back a few days, maximum 5 years because what would you do? Would you change history, or just some embarrassing moments in your life?

Or, there is few time travelers, they use some highly important rules before they can get on the journey (about how they look, how they talk, etc.) and they will act like normal citizens at that time and place to make sure they aren’t radically changing the past.

Anyway: If you go back to the past and kill your past self, then there is a 50/50 chance that you disappear or you didn’t kill your past self. This creates a mind bending paradox where if you killed your past self, you wouldn’t be alive when you went back in time to kill your past self, but if you are alive, you would kill your past self and so on…

this is really a mindfuck thread

If I time traveled back one day and had sex with myself, would that be gay or just masturbation?

you’ll destroy the very fabric of reality

This is not the thread I should be reading at almost 4AM.

I could’ve sworn I had a headache reading all these theories

You can’t kill yourself in the past. It’s REAALY impossible. If you manage to do that. Then you have killed another “you” in another universe. Not yourself.

I wonder if we could exceed the speed of light, would we be able to stop the time

According to relativity, you could really only succeed in slowing time to an extent where it’s passage is barely perceptible.

Plus, imagine the forces put on the body when you manage to accelerate to the required speeds and subsequently de-accelerate to the normal timespace…

You can try hitting F6 :retard:

Nah, right click for sepia-toned slow motion.

What if you go really far back in time and invent everything? Would you be looked on as a god?

What if you go back in time and kill the assholes who made the bible? Then the world would be a better and more advanced place.

Drar: Then other someones will write the “Rooble” and it’ll say the same things as the Bible…

As an atheist I think the writers just made it all up.

That is correct only if you believe that the future is predetermined and can’t be changed. Think like this: time travel hasn’t been discovered yet, so there can not “yet” be time travel. Only after the moment in time somebody invents it, the time travelers start to pop up in the past.

To put it briefly, if future was predetermined, there couldn’t be time travelling because when you travel back time, the future always changes in some way.

time is the 4th dimension, why can’t it be bended if the other strings can?

You’re missing the point. And showing how ignorant you are.
