i was new to gaming at the time. easy was like this. but then again i was like 8.

Damn, now I’m really curious to know what Cobra was getting at. It’s like prematurely hitting send on a message and just forgetting about it.
As for my “Do not wants,” every time I think of something, I figure it’s already sorted out, been said before or not likely to happen anyway. For example, I don’t want cut scenes. I don’t believe the original had them, so I’m sure BM won’t have them. Quite a few mods have them and SC has some in custom maps, but I just don’t think they’d fit too well in BM no matter how well they’re done.
I find it particularly odd that he’s edited the original message.
I don’t want to see moments where trial and error comes into play - ie everyone dies the first time at this point and survival comes down to knowing what’s coming rather than skill.
i don’t want to see the rotating teleporter puzzle. I’m sure it will still be there, and it might even be better this time, but I still don’t like the original and don’t want to see it again.
And yes, it will. But I think it will be way better than in Half-Life, same like in Xen, I’m pretty excited to see it although i hate Xen, but in Black Mesa it will probably look far more better.
It’ll look the most bestest it’s can bees.
I don’t want to see lady Gaga in BM
Dunno if I’ve said it before, but:
Multiplayer.
Gibs.
Neither interest me in the least bit. But you know how it is, everything today has to have a multiplayer component or it isn’t a real game, right?
Why don’t you want gibs?
You’re not gonna ge an alien penis shoved down your throat anywhere else…
Just seems cheesy and gimmicky. Should spend the development time on more important things, like releasing.
You aren’t obliged to download black mesa death-match, you know?
Some people create half-life mods that remove the multiplayer button from the menu so simple access to the multiplayer is removed for them which is good as they hate multiplayer, so don’t even want a button that temps them to it.
Wait, you mean I don’t have to play it???
Nowai.
Of course, my point is that the development time that has been (imho) wasted on DM could/should have gone into the game itself. I’d rather have Black Mesa without deathmatch weeks before Black Mesa with it. Understand?
Don’t worry. Deatchmatch will be released after Single-Player. It needs the assets from SP to work.
They are going to work on Deathmatch after the single player experience, afaik. All of their resources are going into Single Player right now.
What I don’t want to see…Killstreaks. I’ve seen people request these for a bunch of different games, the latest one being America’s Army. Seriously, they don’t really add anything to the game. It just makes the good gamers better, and the bad ones worse. Half of your gamerbase is going to be constantly murdered. It’s pointless.
Deathmatch-only multiplay. I like Domination, Capture the Flag, Juggernaught, Last Man Standing, Objective, and other gamemodes. It would be refreshing to see new gamemodes in the remade maps, and it would be better than just boring, bland old deathmatch. Probably not going to happen, but still…
Quick-time events. These frustrate me, especially if I can’t get them no matter what I do, or how fast or slow I do it. Plus, they don’t fit in well.
Enemies coming out of locked rooms with only one door. I’ve seen a few mods do this, and it happens in L4D, too. It doesn’t make sense, unless an alien teleported into the room.
A lack of direction. If the player spends fifteen to twenty minutes just trying to figure out where the hell to go next, that gets infuriating. I don’t want the game spoon-fed, but I also want to know where it expects me to go next. If I spend ten minutes lost, that’s the longest it should take. Five minutes lost should be the average, I think.
Torrent-only downloads. I’ve downloaded torrents that took a week to DL a 3 gig file. I’ve also had torrents take one minute for a file the same size. Their speeds are too unreliable. I’m not saying don’t use torrents, but I would like to see plain .rar downloads as well, for people that either can’t, or won’t, use torrents.
3 gigs in one minute?
Well, it was a fun thing in half life. Or am I the only one who smashed corpses with his crowbar to a bloody pulp of gibs and blood?:freeman:
nope
Oh you mean in half life not real life…
I thought I mentioned something like this before but maybe I just intended to and forgot :retard:
Anyway, can’t remember the map name, but it’s the one before the Garg-in-the-garage. When you jump onto the roof of a building via launch pad thingy and drop into a vent full of water in the roof. You start going through the pipe and a grunt throws a satchel in the pipe and you have to scurry back out really quick. Well, if you notice once you get into the room, there’s no doors or windows - not even locked ones, AFAIK. Yet there’s headcrabs, more grunts, a health charger, ladders and only one way in and one way out - through pipes (glorified vents, lol). How would maintenance workers get in? Through the roof???
But I digress; I have faith that the BM team has addressed this, but it still bugs me just a wee bit.
I don’t see why the devs wouldn’t take 5 seconds to apply a door texture to a section of wall.
