Things that get you mad, from history.

This thread is all about the things from history, that get you mad/angry/ticked/miffed/pissed/etc - from history. Things that have happened in the name of politics, religious twisting, “evil” (If I am allowed the term) men and women, natural events and so forth… What makes your blood boil because of the people who have blemished our history with this or that transgression?

What choices have the morons in power, the demented working their will in the shadows, or otherwise, things in general, have transpired that cause you to short circuit?

Let’s hear/see what makes you rage -

basically everything

Everything except the invention of the internet.

Recent history or ancient history?
I’m going with recent.

Bush v. Gore

Cheney’s OSP and Iraq

Obama campaigning on the Public Option and then cutting a deal with the insurance industry to kill it, in exchange for nothing

Glass-Steigel (sp?) Repeal

fed conflict-of-interest causing their buddies to get rich during the financial crisis at our expense, also Bernanke being re-appointed to the fed after he let it happen

I suppose recent should be good too - I just did not want a copy of the the Rage thread. (Which is awesome) What say you all? That should be fine hey?

As for me, the Salem Witch Trials.

!692, a total of 19 people (2 males, 17 females) were murdered in the name of “religion” when in fact, it was in the name of political idealisms. Even an ordained minister was murdered because he was speaking out against the brutal murders of the indians that were going on at that time.

The irony being, that the only “real” known witch, was never touched (Not that I think she should have been) she was apperently an African slave, who practiced some form of it. (Not sure of the all the details concerning this, so if someone does, please chime in)

The whole damn thing was about political power, not religion as many seem to think it was. Sure, it is likely that a certain bacteria (That does cause people’s minds to see things) was a factor, but once again, the murderous bastards in power, take advantage of the uneducated.

Of all the things in American history that really piss me off, this has to be the top of the list.

The other man that was killed, was a very old man who would not give in to the wishes of the governing body, so they accused him of witchery, and literally crushed him to death, while trying to get him to confess to being, something they knew, he wasn’t.

lee harvey oswald missin hiss shot at the man on the grassy knoll

LOL

Damn straight…

Hitler, the KKK, ect.

Idiots that hate people for stupid reasons.

Yes.

Hitler was a coward. While is commrads were being mowed down by machine gun fire, he used their bodies to hide behind - While one of his living buddies near him, charged the line of gunners.

The blood from those that were shot and killed, (the 12 martyrs - as they were sometimes known as) soaked into a Nazi flag.

Hitler used this “Martyr’s Flag” as part of a gerneral flag ceremony, to consecrate pretty much every flag the Nazi’s flew. (Remember the old footage where they (Vairious troops) would march and stop in front of Hitler, and he would touch the falg they were carrying, with the “Martyr’s flag”?)

That is how much of a coward he was… His buddies die in the onslaught, and he slinks away to safety (He gathered the flag after the fighting) and then uses their blood as a cymbol of True Courage…

Greasy misserable, mosterous lying bastard.

crusades
irresponsible government
extreme laissez-faire
hitler
kkk
slavery
lots of other stuff. so it goes, I guess.

oh sure its easy to badmouth hitler but how many things have you been chancellor of

In other words he used his surroundings and didn’t charge like an idiot. So he was smart.

Personally I’d go with the treaty of Versailles as one of the stupidest moments in history. Without that no Hitler.
Next to that I’d have to put the placement of Israel. Seriously, whose bright idea was that?

If we wanted recent it would be in the massdebating hall.

Oh yeah… Hitler was brilliant…

Smart like a rock. (Rather, like an abnormal sexual pervert, who murdered his way into the history books as a villian - A real survivor whose interest was in world domination, not is world unity as he claimed - How smart could he have been to not even know the result of his actions, or his own motives?)

He attacked Russia based on an astrology perdiction - for that matter, he based his “MIssion” on a prediction from a Russian spiritualist… Hahahaha… Yeah… Smart like a rock. (Oh, and of course, you are right… I forgot about the luny German Spiritualist too)

How smart is it to use eugenics? It is an idea that CANNOT work. It does not “fix” anything in terms of genetics. And since when does hiding like a coward, win a battle?

They got their asses kicked in that little skirmish - but I suppose it really does not matter at this point. And I have to agree with you concerning the treaty bit… DUH! There were much better ways to sort that out.

Oh and noteanator

Yes, the Germans TOTALLY god their arses kicked in WW2…

I’m angry at the things that they thought were normal back then but today it’s a bad thing to do. Slavery, for example, back then, if you were born into the times of slavery, it was the normal thing to do! You didn’t know it was so bad!

(Zim, I was refering to that specific political skirmish - not the war in general - thanks for posting that - interesting… )

I don’t see how it’s interesting. I thought it was pretty common knowledge that the Russians had by far the highest casuality count in WWII. They also took Berlin before anyone else, but they seem to forget to teach that in schools around here.

Nothing, because it already happened and no one can change anything. So why be mad?

So it doesn’t happen again?

True dat

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
