Reminds me of the one time when I went outside while it was raining but my house was like, at the edge of the storm so in front of my house it was almost downpour and in the back it was dry.
That happened to me once, through the centre window of my flat I could actually see the edge of the rain.
I went whitewater rafting before and it started to rain. I looked behind me and it was raining in the distance and the rain moved up the river until it got to me and you could see it move into the distance. It was one of the coolest things Iâve ever seen.
I sometimes see rain in the distance, where itâs pouring down from a cloud elsewhere and just looks like mist. Sometimes you can see it dissipating before it reaches the ground. It looks pretty cool.
Oh, and I forgot to add. Currently Iâm living on the ninth floor on top of a mountain, so when I look out I can see huge shadows from the clouds dot the landscape, occasionally with added rain, though it usually only forms in larger clouds.
Itâs also a bit weird imagining that the people living there donât have any sunlight while Iâm bathed in it.
I see that all the time, simply because of how big and flat the area here is. My university campus is built on a rise, and at one point you can see for miles where thereâs a gap in the mountains that usually dominate the background.
Oh, and the sky is huge. Practically 180 degrees, and when itâs a clear day itâs all gorgeous blue, going from pale at the horizon to to a beautifully rich, deep blue at the top. They call New Mexico âbig sky countryâ for a reason.
Iâll admit I didnât really know much about NM before watching Breaking Bad, but I was amazed at how beautiful some of the scenery is.

Wow, that is pretty beautiful. I like the one of the city at night the best, where the sun sets and then all the lights suddenly turn on.
You kinda get used to it after a while, but the scenery around here really is gorgeous.
My grandmother had her 100 year birthday party today. She lived through the entire thing. Congratulations Grandma! You made it.
Congrats to your grandmother!
Give her my congratulations too. Not dying takes a lot of work.
So does she get anything cool for hitting 100? Like a jetski or something? Folks here get a letter âfrom the Queenâ. Not much motivation tbh.
Congrats to your grandma!
In other news the cartoonist Oscar Jakobsson apparently created this fella for an Icelandic newspaper in 1947:

Recognise him?
Yes. But wouldnât call it ânewsâ though.
Thatâs Adamson, created by Oscar Jakobsson in 1920. After Jakobssonâs death in 1945, Dane Viggo Ludvigsen took over the comic until the late 60s (so if thatâs from 1947, it was done by Ludvigsen).
Itâs widely assumed that Groening did use Adamson as an inspiration for Homer, even going as far as assuming that Homerâs middlename (J) is a reference to Jakobssonâs name.
Itâs also assumed that Groening used the Itchy & Scratchy plagiarism storyline in relation to this piece of history.
You are in colorado? Where about? I am in Lakewood so I only get the snow that had enough bluster to get itself over the mountain. Right now I have about an inch sitting on the ground but I think it will be gone by 10 am from the super sunshine we get all the time.
Wikipedia is a wonderful place, isnât it.
Iâd be surprised if Jakobsson was on Wikipedia, let alone the Adamson-Simpsons discussion.
I live about 20 miles north of Woodland Park, out in the complete middle of nowhere. Itâs beautiful (aside from the scar left by the Hayman fire), but pretty inconvenient since I school/work in Colorado Springs. Iâll be moving there in January.
Iâd live 100 years to get a letter from the Queen!
Maybe if you start using the queenâs likeness without her permission, youâll get a letter from her!
