The thread of Portal 2

That voice is perfect.

"Alright, let’s get started! First test involves something the lab boy’s call Repulsion Gel. You’re not part of the control group, by the way. You get the gel. Last poor son of a gun got blue paint! Ha ha ha! …all joking aside, that did happen. Broke every bone in his legs. Tragic, but informative! Or so I’m told.

The lab boys just informed me that I should NOT have mentioned the control group."

“Those of you helping us test the Repulsion Gel today, just follow the blue line on the floor. For those of you who volunteered to be injected with Praying Mantis DNA, I’ve got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is we’re postponing those test indefinitely. Good news is we have a much better test for you: fighting an army of Mantis Men! Pick up a rifle and follow the yellow line. You’ll know when the test starts.”

What the…? Where did that come from?

btw: :awesome:

haha, awesome

Im glad someone wrote it into the comments, I didn’t get the whole thing.

Epic :awesome:

new interview: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-03-10-portal-2-how-valve-opened-up-portal-2

This was handled by a different branch of Aperture; Aperture Science Innovators.

Chet Faliszek: Aperture Science is better than Black Mesa. Black Mesa will blow up the Internet.
fix’d

Gonna be a long game, son.

Wow that was a good one.

I knew it the moment I heard it.

Valve you brilliant mother fuckers. Stop making me not give a fuck about Half life.

The worlds of Half-Life and Portal are connected, and are on a collision course. Not sure how they’re going to combine the two, but they’ve forced it upon themselves.

Valve said that, like Portal, their may be some very subtle references to Half Life, that you may only pick up if your a fan. But as Mark Laidlaw, the writer of the series said “Gordon isn’t going to run down the opposite corridor holding his crowbar”.

Anyway, there is that Portal 2 Achievement List that was leaked, with that weird achievement about the hidden experiment people are linking to the Borealis.

They’ve only said that about Portal 2. The future games will intersect. In fact, with Episode 3 linking directly to the Borealis, they will intersect.

Blueprints for the Borealis show Aperture technology such as emancipation grids and unstationary scaffolding, so we’ll encounter Portal-esque tech, most likely in the same art style for continuity. It’s that combination I’m interested in seeing.

You got that from a low-res texture?

Pics plz

Chell, get your butt in here! I want pictures! Pictures of the Borealis!

I pre-ordered Portal 2 yesterday and gifted Portal 1 to a real life friend, to convince him to get Portal 2. Also, what do you think about this Cave Johnson stuff? It’s probably just recordings, considering according to the Portal Timeline released by valve he died in 1977.

Also, what’s that supposed to mean :expressionless: ? I mean it just bothers me when people assume all American’s are whiney, dumb, and fat :stuck_out_tongue: You guys have your fair share of idiots to, may I remind you. Ignore I said this, so we don’t start a flame war.

^ Cave Johnson is dead, and alive, (if that makes any sense)

I remember reading up on really early leaks that cave johnson’s brain was put into a computer, or something along those lines.

Really wish i still had the link to that, but you guys have my word i’ve seen it.

MATERIAL EMANCIPATION GRID- POST TEST ROOM SIMILAR EXCEPT AS NOTES

Destroys weapons only maybe? Both the grid and the security device in the combine citadel may be built upon the same principle

Also what does unstationary scaffold mean?

He made himself into an AI, as was mentioned in the Portal 2 ARG.

Me too, buddy.

Haha it’s those moving platforms in the first Portal.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
