Kleiner coming from behind the door with the shotgun is just a nod to the scientist at the top of the lambda complex in HL1 meant to trigger some nostalgia. It’s been confirmed by Valve that even though it was the einstein model, kleiner was one of the guys you talk to right after the RC.
