The Rage Topic

Geez, that blows. Had a similar issue when I ordered w/ one-day shipping, but it arrived too early while the office wasn’t yet open. Then they came back the next day, office was closed because closed on weekends.

I buy shit online all the time, though, so I just bought a Prime memberhsip and that’s never gonna be a money-problem again.

Looks like my dad doesn’t get much time off for thanksgiving. That’s a shame, we were planning on marathoning some movie franchises

I don’t get any time off for thanksgiving this November.
I also have to present my school project game in 3 hours and I can’t prepare because I have class until then.

I get to go into work 5 hours early today and haven’t been able to sleep. WOO!

So I got to try the Hololens and it sucks. The fov is horrible and the motion tracking shoddy.

Also every time I’m interested in a girl I either find out she’s taken or don’t follow through.

Am I allowed to whine instead of rage? Should I put it in all caps?

But if we made a whine thread, this thread would have a lot less traffic.

Also FOR FUCKS SAKE AMERICA, YOU DON’T EVEN LIMIT GUN SALES FOR PEOPLE ON YOUR NO-FLY LIST?

DID IT NOT OCCUR TO ANYONE THAT MAYBE IF SOMEONE ISN’T SAFE FOR AIR TRAVEL, MAYBE THEY SHOULDN’T BE TRUSTED WITH A GUN?

I hate how everyone tries to play the blame game on religions or races with subjects like that while we’re pretty much the only developed nation that this is a consistent problem for.

That’s a whole other can of worms… I don’t recommend going into that.

Long story short, they’re issues that are far more complex than you give them credit for.

It’s a super complex issue, but there are a few simple fixes that could reduce the amount of shootings, if only a little.

It’s not as simple as you think. Dealing with any form of politics (or problem in general) there’s more than one side of the issue. The refugee crisis is one example of this: They pose a major security risk, but from a humanitarian point of view, have to them in. That’s a dilemma.

I honestly don’t want to argue this shit on a forum, there’s too many varying viewpoints from different nationalities as well as backgrounds. There will never be a consensus.

Is it, like, literally impossible for people between the ages of 18 and 28 to not rev their engines obnoxiously while going at low speeds (between 5 and 0 mph) in a parking lot?

Probably. My Dad is 53 and he does that.

Also, “I just heard my car alarm activate. Better activate it 80 more times on my way into the store before promptly going deaf and no longer hearing the car alarm when it does go off.”

I don’t do that… I usually rev the engine when accelerating into traffic.

I rev mine occasionally when I’m just sitting there, cause I dunno it makes me feel better. Cars kinda old, I worry haha even tho it doesn’t do much I feel like sometimes sitting in one spot for too long will hurt it.

I rev mine when accelerating away from traffic.

Interviewed at Google for their Associate Product Manager position. Did really well on the product focused questions, completely bombed the technical questions because I had only prepared for product questions. Didn’t get the job. Think I might have gotten the job if I had just practiced technical questions. Too late now. FML.

Don’t have shit for a backup plan so now I’m stressed as fuck about getting a job after graduation. Reapplying to Google’s Software Engineering position but I’m pretty under-qualified for that so I don’t think I have a chance. I’m really well-connected with a company in San Francisco called Autodesk but they’re the weirdest software company in that they don’t seem to hire any fucking software engineers. Anybody live in the Bay Area and want to give me a job?

Sorry to hear that Garth.

Autodesk is behind Maya and a few other modeling programs, just an FYI, not like it isn’t unheard of.

Though from the past few yearly builds of Maya, I can believe that they don’t have any software engineers whatsoever. Shit’s unstable, please fix.

That said, IIRC they’re working on a game engine now. Seems to be heavily inspired by UE4.

Thanks.

Yeah I’m too used to people not knowing about them because I’m usually talking to people without a 3D modelling background. To put things less facetiously, they don’t hire that many software engineers because they grow via acquisition (like Maya and 3DS Max) so they get a lot of their software engineers from the companies they buy as opposed to strictly through hiring.

On the upside, one of my connections in the company is the head of a team I’d like to work for, he’s conducting interviews in February and if a full-time position opens up he’s going to let me know.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
