In any other comments section, once a riddle posed by the OP was solved, people would stop guessing. Not youtube though. One vsauce video has been getting constant guesses to a riddle they posed in a video. For like, 2 years. It’s ridiculous. I’m amazed that top comments can even exist sometimes, given how little people seem to actually read the comments.

I always had fun having to alter every movement I made in ski boots. Descending stairs was especially fun, grabbing a railing and skiing down stairs was… interesting…

My girlfriend watches the Dragon Tattoo miniseries set I lent her. She refuses to watch it in the original Swedish, instead opting for the dubbed English voiceover (which is AWFUL and often changes the whole meaning of the dialog/acting). Afterwards, she says she would watch it again, but I would literally have to explain the plot for her as we go.
And then she has the nerve to say that we should watch the “original” version with Daniel Craig.
THE SWEDISH VERSION WAS THE FUCKING ORIGINAL. And the Fincher film wasn’t as good. Yes, I’m a film snob and I’m hulking the fuck out over this.

Well, I have neither read the book or seen the movie, so my opinion isn’t valid, but most people I know say Stieg Larsson is rather overrated, and 98% of all the Swedish movies I’ve seen have been absolute crap, especially social realist dramas, or whatever you call it in English.
I agree with you on the translation thing, though. A film should always be watched with the original spoken language.
The movie is fucking great, and it’s “overrated” because most people who see it love it, because it’s fucking great.
The books are great too, if a bit padded with occasionally unnecessary sequences. (Lizbeth’s stay at the hotel on the island was almost completely cut out of the movie because it was so anecdotal.)
Well, as I said, my opinion is invalid until I’ve seen it for myself, but that’s just what I’ve heard. I should probably get around to finally checking the movies out soon.
Didn’t see the original (nor read the books), but David Fincher’s version was indeed beautiful. Very well told.
