The Rage Topic

Fincher’s take was good but not as good as the Swedish version. See the miniseries cut of the trilogy- it’s closest to the books (and more Plague!).

I heard there was way too much overt product placement in Fincher’s movie. Like, rack focuses to coke bottles in the foreground and other unnecessary shit.

I don’t remember, but the fact itself that I don’t remember means that even if it’s true, it’s not that intruding to enjoy the movie. Or that I suffer from amnesia.
The only movies I was disturbed with overly-aggressive product placement were “Minority Report” and “I Robot”.

Minority Report’s placement was more to drive home the invasion of privacy of the setting, particularly how all the billboards were scanning Anderton’s eyes. It also got played for comedy a few times. (The fuller version of this sequence had the GAP billboard ask someone how their lingerie was working for them.)

I don’t really think that’s an invasion of privacy. There’s nothing really wrong with targeted ads, at least in my opinion.

And speaking of product placement, how come nobody’s mentioned Chuck yet? :stuck_out_tongue:

Now we’re getting into personal ethics, which has nothing to do with the fucking movie because the entire point of the product placement is to demonstrate that corporations invade privacy.

Mirror’s edge just gave me a ‘no disc’ error and crashed, what the fuck?

AAAAA PLANETSIDE2.EXE NO WORK AAAAA

Aren’t they updating it tonight? Or was that this afternoon?

Planetside was better. They removed too many of the things that made the first game as much fun as it was for me.

Steam’s being a dick, having trouble with Portal 2 updates.
I tried the “delete everything except Steam, apps and userdata”, but Steam itself wants to update and it keeps dropping out. Goddammit.

Wait, everything? You mean you basically just reformatted your disc? Wouldn’t it have been easier to just reinstall Portal 2?

No, just in the Steam folder. I’ll have to reinstall it anyway now.

actually when you erase all files except Steam.exe and steamapps and then launchin it, you are reinstalling.

Save the steamapps folder and then drop it into a fresh install. If that doesn’t work, use steam to delete and uninstall the problematic game itself.

Taking an Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator class, it’s frustrating that there aren’t any higher classes for it, I’m stuck learning the basics that I already know, and my textbook is telling me things like how to Save As and how to create a document.

I’m hoping because they only offer the one down the road we get into advanced stuff.

If there’s classes that need to be renewed or removed, it’s those involving the use of computers. E.G. I’ve read a ‘computer knowledge-class’ spanning over 3 months, I could had finished it the first day since it was just about file fomats, file sizes, transfer speeds, how to effectively use a text editor and spreadsheet applications.

This class was created back when not everyone had a computer at home. However, there’s still people who doesn’t know these basics, which just make me cry a little bit inside.

Not only are there two other people in this class who share my name, but the professor keeps talking about an architect who also has the same name as me. It’s getting really awkward.

near blizzard conditions where I live, surprised I still have internet and power… I hate weather. do to it I can’t get to work which mean I can’t get money.

^ For some reason seeing your post next to “In-Game: Team Fortress 2” made me smile.

^playin TF2 when he should be getting money is not funny… :retard:
