Complete Virtual Reality Metroid.
The perfect game for me would be something that mixes in all kinds of genres, and puts them into something coherent and very satisfying to play, all the while providing a decent challenge.
Heh, you know, I’m surprised that not one FPS game that includes manned turret guns doesn’t give the player the option to whip out a secondary firearm and shoot behind him at the same time. That would be a good feature if you had a gameplay element involving being flanked from two sides, or riding on the back of a jeep during an intense car chase.
I’m not surprised. That’d be a complete bitch to code and would be completely worthless.
A complete remake of Half-Life 1 on the source engine. It’d be all purtiful and the devs would make some of the confusing parts of the game make more sense, but without drastically changing the gameplay. Also, it’d be a free mod, not a game, so that you could play it for free if you already had a source engine game. It’d look something like this: https://www.blackmesasource.com/media.html And maybe they’d even add a co-op mode. Oh, and it’d take forever to be released so that I’d have an excuse to waste all my time on a forum dedicated to it where I would make long semi-sarcastic posts in stupid threads.
But seriously, when blackmesa is released, it will be the perfect game. The addictive gameplay of HL1 combined with the orgasmic visuals of the source engine. And it’s free. Can’t compete with that.
Lol, fat chance.
Stop sucking the dev’s cocks, Garth. You’re not getting the mod early.
Lol. That’s the last thing I’d like to do, I’m actually quite pissed at them (or at least at some of them) atm. But if it did mean I’d get the mod early I’d do it.
The game that perfectly combines fluid gameplay like you would see in a cinematic cutscene with story and character development that’s so unbelievably unforgettable you can’t help but cry during the credits.
Don’t really care what game it is, as long as it can make the gameplay fun and the story interesting.
Don’t you mean “unforgettable.”
So basically, you’re thinking the best elements of Uncharted and Metal Gear Solid 4 combined. I like that idea.
I’ve never played those games, so no clue.
Also, if you threw in interesting gameplay such as Prince of Persia platforming and THIEF stealth the game would only be that much more perfect. Of course, it would have to be pretty well done to combine different elements of gameplay effectively like that.
And yes, unforgettable. Whooooops. xD
Prey, with Half-life 2’s EP2 open areas, nonlinear…
Well if we’re going crazy here any of my favorite games in VR would be the most perfect game ever.
But if we’re talking creating a game that could run on current hardware…I’d have to say it would be a shooter RPG similar in style/story/scope to Mass Effect, with the controls as tight as Half Life or L4D, but also with space battles similar to the old Rogue Squadron or Star Fox games. The main story would itself would be long (30+ hours) and well-written, with believable and likable characters. It would have great voice actors, perfectly cast, with no awkwardly delivered lines. It would have engaging, fleshed out side missions that weren’t over in a few minutes. The worlds you would visit would be incredibly vast, detailed and realistic: if you could see it you could go there, but no stealing stranger’s stuff to fund your mission, no being able to walk into random houses. You’d see realistic responses and consequences for every action you make. You’d never see two faces or outfits that were exactly the same. It would also have very tense emotional moments and hilarious dialogue, awesome weapons and random things to do for the hell of it. And endless customization. You’d have to buy a computer with the latest hardware to stick the 1TB hard drive it’d come loaded on in, and once you turned it on it would take a day to load it up so you’d never turn it off.
Damn now I wish someone would actually do this. Thanks, pal. :meh:
You’ll get over it, sugarplum.
The perfect game? A game that is made without money hungry publishers interfering with the studio.
The perfect game would be an RPG of some form, totally non-linear with characters and a plot that can actually engage you emotionally.
Graphics and combat of Oblivion mixed with story and gameplay mechanics of Morrowind.
Fallout 3 with story and gameplay more like FO1 & FO2
Half-Life 1 with HL2 graphics
Half-Life 2 with more HL1 Xen aliens
Duke Nukem Forever, but more released
C&C with C&C3 graphics but Tiberian Sun gameplay and units and FMVs
a game that takes the concept of player interactivity to a new level where it doesn’t try to just be fun to play, but instead convey other explosive emotions not seen on video game form before
It sounds like a sound idea… except the whole even with three monitors you can’t see more than a hundred-something degrees, so how would you shoot behind you and keep shooting your turret? Unless you auto-aim one of them, and then I’d hate it.
Wouldn’t it be easier to turn the turret around, more powerful too?
Then how do you still cover your back side?
