I hit up the system requirements thread and hit up the “Can you run it?” site. I was struck to see my processor readout for The Orange Box and looking for some clarification.
Is it performing like a 2.8 GHz processor, or is that what it could run at?
Looks like it accounts to multicore processors. You might have a dual core system, so that would mean it’s performance would be ‘equivalent’ to one of a 2.808 ghz single core processor. This isn’t exact, but gives you an idea of if your system can run it.
The number is what it is currently running at.
I have an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ at the moment and that one is definately singe-core but systemrequiremens still says this: 1.96 GHz Performance Rated at: 3.528 GHz.

My 2,4ghz single core is rated over 3ghz. Strange, no idea why it does that.
The “Performance Rated” ghz is the amount of ghz it would be if it was a netburst (Pentium 4) processor.
