The "OMG this game is on sale is it worth X bucks" Thread

You’re crazy.

[/correctedforfreud]

Terraria has definitely been taking up more time than I thought it would. It didn’t hook me at first, but once a friend got me moving it really started to get addictive.

It does kind of feel like a pyramid scheme with the “get better armor in order to get better armor” deal, but you have the bosses as a sort of motivation and exploration is genuinely fun. Finding new places is interesting and I still have a ways to go (still haven’t been to the underground jungle).

Dungeon Siege III, 50% off.

Yes/no?

25€ I´d say no

Cant believe the first one and second one are still 27.50 each

EDIT: Ah no, if you get Dungeon siege 3 for 27.50, you get the first and second one included… hmmm not to bad then

Alright, I’ll wait until they slash the price even further, then. I found the demo to be enjoyable, so I’ll pick it up eventually.

Metro 2033 75% off today. Yes/no?

oooooo this is relevant to my interests.

GET IT NOW.

To watch how uncle Bourbon works.

Too bad it’s horribly optimized :frowning: .

…Yeah.

anyone play stalker?
it’s on sale too and I’m on the fence about it, don’t have time for another sandbox game like oblivion/fallout, but if it’s a nice once-through game with good story like bioshock, deus ex, half life, SS2 etc. i’d give it a go

If you want to get any of the games in the THQ pack, you should wait, since they are doing a week long thing, there is a good chance that Stalker will go on sale during the week. If it isn’t part of the weekend deal, and you still want it, you should go for it then.
(I’ve heard horror stories about the PC version of Saints Row 2, but I’ll buy it if it’s $5 or less during the week :stuck_out_tongue: )

It’s really not THAT bad, in my opinion. The vehicle handling is awful, but that’s the same across all platforms. It’s an incredible game no matter what.

Metro 2033 = Not a bad game, but could have been better. The atmosphere and storyline are top notch though, and honestly, it’s worth it on this alone.

STALKER: Shadow Of Chernobyl = Awesome. Great atmosphere and gunfights. Storytelling is good with 7 endings (2 real, 5 false). IMO far and away the best of the STALKER games and well worth the money as is. But as BahamutBBob said, wait and see if it comes on special through the week and you might get it cheaper.

You’re an idiot if you don’t buy Metro for $5. Probably one of the best single player FPS experiences in the last few years.

The Stalker games are like the best games ever. Get them.

Today there is a Max Payne bundle, a deal on Tomb Raider games, and a deal on Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War games.

Who’s played what, and what’s a good deal? I’m personally intrigued by Max Payne, but I don’t think I’m all that interested in the Dawn of War games. I’ve heard that Tomb Raider are pretty hit and miss.

I think Metro is a piece of shit. It lacks in everyone aspect. Sound design, animation, voice acting, AI, and all the works. I’ve never met anyone that agrees with me though, so other may like it.
