The Meh-est game you've ever played.

I’ve got to find that free monopoly server my friend had found, and then we can start up a black mesa monopoly club.

nno its a stupid game that goes on forever and doesn’t work.

hopscotch

Pick-up sticks.

AVP 2010. That certainly happened.

Real life

Wow. I played that yesterday and I didn’t even remember.

Actually, I really, really enjoyed AVP (3). I’d never played any of the other AVPs so I had no expectations what-so-ever, and I’ve got exactly 100 hours put into it. I was thinking of playing through the Alien campaign again the other day actually.

The alien campaign in AvP 2 was a lot better IMO

AvP 2 in general was a super awesome game. I also found AVP 2010 pretty average. Didn’t hate it, just forgot about it.

Resident Evil 4. It’s functional. Barely. Popping zombie heads is kinda fun. The storyline’s cheese occasionally made me laugh. But the controls (despite being an improvement) are still awful, and it’s not scary at all. Plus, there was that fucking tile puzzle during Ashley’s brief gameplay sequence.

All in all, very ho-hum. Dead Space played the horror angle much better, and you could shoot WHILE MOVING. YES.

is jousting a game or a sport because its bullshit either way

Duke Nukem Forever

Oh. My bad :frowning:

I don’t think HL2’s mediocre, personally. I’ve heard that said before too, and I don’t think that’s true at all.

I just find that there are a lot of little things about it that take away from the experience for me and keep me from really “getting into it” like I can with HL1 or Black Mesa.

Not really sure how to put it, but I don’t think it’s a bad game by any means.

Far cry 2.

Maybe I’ll go back and play some more of it again, but just a few hours and I was just like eh.

Would it be bad to say Crysis? I’d completely forgotten having played the demo up until now.

I wouldn’t say that. Crysis is incredibly fun for most of the game. This thread is mostly about opinions though.

It was fun, I just don’t remember it all that well. I suppose part of that would just be from having to set the graphics so low.

Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Symphonia 2…basically any “Tales” game that wasn’t the first Symphonia. They were just quite bland and forgettable. I think they probably were just all too similar, so the one I played first (Symphonia) was the one I ended up really liking. On the other hand, it was the only Tales game to ever get a direct sequel, mediocre as it was, so maybe it did do something better or different than the others. (It might have been that, as I found later when I finally played Final Fantasy X, that it was basically the same story as FFX, only with fun real time hack-n-slash type battles.)

I guess I could add Final Fantasy XIII to that list. I liked and disliked the game in equal measure. Great combat system, some of the characters were interesting, pretty graphics. Of course, this game also had Hope and Snow, and a huge problem with plot pacing and linearity. Even worse, the plot itself could get downright nonsensical at times, to the point where the only hope I had of following what exactly was going on was to read the in-game codex entries explaining everything. There’s avoiding expository dialog for the betterment of pacing, and there’s being obscure and not letting the end user in on the intricacies of the plot. This falls more into the latter category.

FFXIII-2 was much better on basically all fronts- narrowing the focus to two characters gives the story time to flesh them out a lot more, and the Historia Crux let players go between different areas and time periods to explore and do side-quests. The plot was even worse though, because after the unambiguously happy ending of FFXIII they basically ripped a hole in the space time continuum with the sole purpose of justifying a sequel story.
