Saw Harry Brown again. Really like this movie.
Pulp Fiction :awesome:
Star Trek The one where Kirk is a giant jerk to everyone
Bluemen230, you’re going to have to narrow that down a bit more.
Audition :fffuuu:
Now, I can normally stand a bit of gore and stuff but when she’s sawing through his leg with that wire and it goes from flesh to bone just the sound is enough to get me gippin… nightmares for me tonight.
The one where he wrecks his dad’s ancient car, gets into random fights for no reason and always getting his butt kicked, constantly hanging off ledges, and taunting Spock about the fact his entire civilization and mother were destroyed.
I got really frustrated by the way Marcus was introduced to The Resistance. John Connor and the others immediately took a hardline stance of “he’s a machine kill him now”, which is kind of understandable, but at the same time needlessly narrow minded plot-wise. Surely there would have been more people who considered the human element in him?
Marcus himself appeared quite stupid when trying to explain his predicament. When questioned by Connor all he seemed to say was “I don’t know” or start screaming incoherently. He made absolutely no attempt tell them how he signed away his body or how he thinks he may have been altered. The result was a fairly ridiculous position where the Resistance wouldn’t accept anything and Marcus refused to explain anything.
I thought it would have made sense if they found out that Marcus’ brain was still intact and that he was in fact a human in a robotic shell, rather than a machine with a human covering. The question would be then wether the machines could reprogram a human brain, not an electronic one. They could have maintained that atmosphere of distrust without creating the frustrating stalemate that they did, but twas not to be.
i saw my name is khan.
Moon. A small time british scifi film from 2009. I had never heard of it until a week ago, watched today. I’m not a critic, I can just say that I liked it a lot. Different kind of movie. Noteworthy point, they didn’t use CGI, but went traditional small scale instead.
The Mask.
Jim Carrey is a god.
on acid :fffuuu:
really crazy, beautiful film IMO. i can see why people are so polarized by it.
I think I’ve said this before, but I want to see that movie but… I’m scared :fffuuu: . Sounds way too brutal to me, at least the last 20 minutes or so.
Ohh oh mann Its amazingly awwesome that that was all practical effects. love that movie twice as much now
the whole movie is brutal, i mean the guy was swamped in depression when he wrote this, and it really shows. You can only make a movie like this when you’re really fucked in the head or in a certain emotional state. At the same time, there’s a strange sort of logic to the film and its characters… All in all, i like the movie, i thought it was very honest and ballsy. and i love reading the criticism of it because i can pinpoint exactly what people were uncomfortable with. Also, this movie not misogynist.

i turned off antichrist pretty quick cuz i was watching it w/ a group and nobody needed to see gary buseys cock. was hoping for something a bit more in the direction of lars von triers tv series riget but no dice. should prob give it anothere go someday
You should, i’d say it’s worth it. You do kind of have to watch the it with an open mind though.

Saw How to Train your Dragon. Predictable plot, but cuteness overload.
:fffuuu: indeed.
Watched Antichrist after reading the comments here. Exceptional piece of cinematography but not for the squeemish. Not so sure it needs to be as graphic as it is at times, certainly the product of a troubled mind.
Saw 3:10 to Yuma tother day. the remake version starrin russel crowe and patrick batman. Its really cool and good, more westerns should be made nowadays imo
Last film I saw was How to Train your Dragon 3D. I like that the 3D movies have managed to shake loose from their gimmicky start and just simply be in 3D and not have to throw it in your face.
Last movie (not in theaters) was Wizards. Possibly one of the worst pieces of garbage I’ve ever seen. Animation was a horrible combination of 40% still drawings, 40% screened over war footage with horns drawn on the people, and 20% subpar animation that made 70s era Hanna-Barbara look sophisticated, fluid and precise by comparison. The characters had no sense of motivation and often had their actions conflict with whatever motivation did seem to be present, and while there was apparently some sort of character development, it was almost like every single instance of it was off screen. Finally whatever message might have been conveyed by the climax was completely lost by how the entire rest of the movie was handled.
I was stupid enough to watch it as a kid, and when I saw that my cousin had it I thought that maybe I just hadn’t understood what was going on back then, so I decided to try it again, but it was still just as horrible as I remembered it, possibly worse.
