Piranha 3D. Been a while since I had so much fun.
Spirited Away, I know it’s an old movie but it’s still a freaking great movie :awesome:
How is it old? It came out in 2001.
Well, I saw it for the first time in 2010, and it came out in 2001… :fffuuu:
Just done all three films in the Millenium trilogy
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
The Girl Who Played With Fire
The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest
Cracking story 9/10
DooM
Rating(again): 3
Solaris (Tarkovsky)
Seriously a creepy movie. I didn’t like it quite as much as Stalker but it was still excellent. I was scratching my head during the last ten minutes or so… but then the camera zoomed out and a chill ran up my spine.
My thoughts during the ending:
“Cool, he’s back home.”
“Hmm, water doesn’t look like it’s moving. Well, it’s a lake I guess.”
“They seem to have a leak. I guess it’s no prob- he’s walking through steaming water wth.”
“What the fuck is he doing?”
camera zooms out
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT :fffuuu:
I really like Tarkovsky’s camera work. I do find it kind of weird that he switches between black/white and color so often but I suppose there’s a reason for it.
I like your style. (Kairouseki’s too)
That film had it’s moments… but overall I fucking hated it.
fuck yeah
I love it when human memories are misinterpreted.
I don’t remember how the American version of Solaris ended…
Me neither. I hardly remember a thing about it other than it was boring beyond belief while this one avoided it somehow.
I wonder if there’s a Tarkovsky DVD collection somewhere…
Anyway, I saw Children of Men tonight, 3rd time seeing it and I still love the way its scenes were handled, and the way its setting was portrayed. I just realized, during this viewing, how redundant some of the propaganda was. I missed a lot of it the first time.
Yesss, Children of Men was a great movie. That should have gotten Best Cinematography for all the long take they employ, but NOOOOOO, we can’t let science fiction movies win at the OSCARS.
Assholes.
In other news, I saw… Saw. The original. Oh damn that movie is brilliant. The plot is actually quite good. It’s very convoluted and makes what could have been a run of the mill gore flick into a compelling, twisted thriller of the highest caliber. See it, it’s damn good.
Just rewatched WarGames. Yeah, the technology is outdated (look at the size of those floppy disks!), but it was an extremely smart movie.
It’s one of my top ten movies of all time.
I have no complaints.
Bots can watch movies now?
Can we keep it? I promise I will feed it!
For real this time? Because… I still have nightmares about that cat.
…what cat?
too bad these bots usually stop posting if you remove the link in their sig, and no they can’t watch movies, they just read a shitload of reviews
