The Last Film You Saw.

OK, that I can agree with.

Maybe I was being too hard on the Cagemeister… but I’ve seen him at his worst (think Sorcerer’s Apprentice). Also, this.

I watched Angels and Demons recently (happened to be on TV). Decidedly meh. Bad dialogue, illogical plot, but the shots of Rome were nice.

I didn’t like The Da Vinci code very much either, so I expected as much when I went to see it. Both pretty huge meh.

I would be inclined to agree there.

nicolas cage is waycool and has never made a movie that is not enjoyable to watch.

ghost rider

^ and Sorcerer’s Apprentice

^ I watched it for like 5 minutes and promptly deleted it.

In other news Kung-Fu Hustle is still fucking awesome.

Yes, it is. It’s hilarious.

Disagree. I would rather watch Ghost Rider (pleasantly dumb) over Kung Fu Hustle (my least favorite kind of kung fu movie).

a cool thing about ghost rider is how cage does an elvis impression all film for no reason

Really? Ghost Rider over Kung Fu Hustle?

I mean, really?

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think Ghost Rider is a great film. It is fun for a weekend sitting around the house looking for something mildly entertaining to waste some time away with. It’s just dumb enough to be fun when there isn’t anything better on TV.

Kung Fu Hustle is the bottom of the barrel though. I can’t stand martial arts movies that have more wire work and CGI in their fight scenes than actors. The humor is around the same level as Meet the Spartans, and every time I try to watch it I can’t stand to sit through more than five minutes at a time, constantly flipping through all other channels looking for something better to watch.

What I did watch this weekend.

El Dorado - 9/10

Possibly my favorite Jon Wayne movie, up there with Sons of Katie Elder. The chemistry between Wayne and James Caan is very enjoyable, and the gun play in the action scenes is very believable (even Turhune’s ability to miss with a short barrel double shotgun is believable the way they set up his character). A strong story from start to finish too.

Thanks. /rollseyes

It was my first 3D movie, and I felt like I wasted the extra $4.50 on seeing it in 3D when the parts that were 3D were barely noticeable. I’m sorry if you disagree.

But explosions are pretty. My excuse wasn’t “It’s Michael Bay,” it was “There will be explosions.” I have enjoyed both of the movies so far, because I didn’t expect to get more than robots fighting out of them.

I never saw Kung Fu Hustle. All I heard is that it’s a martial arts smackdown comedy.

Is it anything like Kung Pow?

Edit: Also. Big Lebowski is awesome!

I’ve never seen Kung Pow.

I only know I found Kung Fu Hustle to be really entertaining, and it’s just well done.

Saw Falling Down yesterday. Great, great movie.

Kung Fu Hustle isn’t as bizarre as Kung Pow is. It’s a straight forward martial arts movie with comedy in it.

We are both ventriloquists, ventriloquists, ventriloquists
We are both ventriloquists and we practice every day

Kung Pow - stupid but funny movie, a parody of the old martial arts movies.

Kung Fu Hustle - standard story, unusual storytelling, if you’ve seen Shaolin Soccer then you know what it is (BTW, Shaolin Soccer was awesome  )

I’ve been watching some war movies/series lately so I can recommend The Pacific, very good HBO miniseries. Other than that Thin Red Line was good but kind of heavy for my taste. And I’ve finally watched The Shawshank Redemption - great movie :stuck_out_tongue: .
